Abstract

Procédé de fabrication continue de profilés alvéolaires d'une épaisseur comprise entre 1 et 200 mm, à partir de polymères d'oléfines, dans lequel on homogénéise un mélange composé d'un polymère d'oléfine, d'un gonflant organique solide, libérant des gaz inorganiques sous l'action de la chaleur, d'un peroxyde organique ainsi que, le cas échéant, d'auxiliaires d'expansion, de promoteurs de réticulation et d'autres produits d'addition courants, on réticule et on expanse le polymère d'oléfine dans une zone d'expansion, à des températures au sein de la masse comprises entre 160 et 280 degrés C et on extrude le produit alvéolaire de la zone d'expansion avec refroidissement et solidification. Ce procédé est caractérisé par le fait qu'il règne dans la zone d'expansion une pression comprise entre 5 et 150 bars et le rapport de la longueur de ladite zone à son épaisseur maximale se situe dans une plage comprise entre 100/1 et 2 000/1.
