Abstract

Procédé pour noircir la surface d'un corps d'un métal ferreux, applicable notamment au noircissement des surfaces d'un ensemble masque-bâti d'un tube image pour la télévision en couleurs du type à masque d'ombre, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à déposer sur ladite surface une composition fusible à chaud qui est oxydante pour ledit métal, et à chauffer le corps ainsi revêtu au-dessus du point de fusion de ladite composition jusqu'à ce qu'elle fonde, s'étale sur la surface, réagisse avec le matériau constituant cette surface, et y produise une couche d'oxyde noir.
