Abstract

Φίλτρο κυκλικής πόλωσης αποτελούμενο απο ενα ευρεος φάσματος πλακίδιο καθυστέρησης ενός τετάρτου μήκους κύματος (1), όπου η γωνία ανάμεσα στο γρήγοροάξονα του πλακιδίου (2) και το διάνυσμα ηλεκτρικού πεδίου (4) του γραμμικά πολωμένου προσπίπτοντος φωτός της οθόνης TFT-LCD είναι 45 μοίρες, μετατρέποντας έτσι την έξοδο σε κυκλικά πολωμένο φως (5) με ίδιο εύρος δόνησης σε όλα τα αζιμούθια, κάτι πουαποτελεί ικανοποιητική προσέγγιση του μη πολωμένου φωτός. Το πλεονέκτημα της εφεύρεσης είναι η απλότητα της, με ελάχιστη απώλεια φωτεινότητας. Επιπλέον, είναι κατάλληλη για παραγωγή σε βιομηχανική κλίμακα, ως ενσωματωμένο στοιχείο των οθονών TFT-LCD.
