Abstract
1312786 Tobacco compositions IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [23 March 1970] 13863/70 Heading A2C A smoking mixture comprises reconstituted tobacco and protein, the amount of protein to tobacco being in the range 1:2 to 1:50. Suitable proteins include the animal proteins albumin, casein, gelatine, peptone, haemoglobin or wool protein, and the vegetable proteins derived from maize (zein), wheat (glutin and gliadin), soyabean or groundnut. In the examples, aqueous slurries of ball milled tobacco together with glycerol, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, calcium and magnesium carbonates, one of the proteins casein, gliadin or groundnut protein, and either potassium citrate or bentonite, were cast to form a sheet of reconstituted tobacco.
