Abstract
1357819 Imino dithiane compounds SANDOZ Ltd 27 Sept 1971 [29 Sept 1970 27 Jan 1971 (4)] 44812/71 Heading C2C Compounds of formula where R 1 is C 1-5 alkyl, R 2 is H or C 1-5 alkyl, Y is -H, -OH, C 1-5 alkyl, C 5-6 cycloalkyl, -CN, -COOR 3 , -COR 3 (where R 3 is C 1-5 alkyl, C 2-5 alkenyl or C 5-6 cycloalkyl, each of which may be substituted with F, Cl, or Br) or -OCONR 4 R 5 (where R 4 is C 1-5 alkyl, aryl, or aryl substituted with C 1-5 alkyl, F, Cl or Br, and R 5 is H or C 1-5 alkyl) and salts thereof may be prepared by reacting (a) with ClGN to give compound I in which Y is H, (b) compound I in which Y is H with W 1 Y 4 where either W 1 is -NH 2 and Y 4 is OH, C 1-5 alkyl or C 5-6 cycloalkyl, or W 1 is F, Cl or Br and Y 4 is -COOR 3 or -COR 3 , to give compound I in which Y is -OH, C 1-5 alkyl, C 5-6 cycloalkyl, -COOR 3 or -COR 3 , (c) compound I in which Y is OH with W 2 Y 5 where either W 2 is isocyanate and Y is R 4 or W 2 is F, Cl or Br and Y 5 is -CONR 4 R 5 , to give compound I in which Y is -CONR 4 R 5 , or (d) ZCH 2 -CH(NR 1 R 2 )-CH 2 Z where Z is halogen or tosylate with where M<SP>+</SP> is, e.g. K, to give compound I in which Y is CN. Where R 2 = H, the amine function in processes (b) and (c) may be protected, e.g. with benzyl. The compounds are insecticides and fungicides.
