Abstract

L'oggetto della presente invenzione è costituito dall'uso dei glicosaminoglicani nella prevenzione e nel trattamento di alcune patologie indotte dal diabete quali la nefropatia diabetica e la neuropatia diabetica.L'efficacia dei glicosaminoglicani nella prevenzione e nel trattamento di dette patologie è stata dimostrata mediante il trattamento di alcuni tipi di glicosaminoglicani di ratti albini maschi resi diabetici per trattamento con streptozotocina o con allossano e mediante la successiva determinazione di parametri morfologici e clinici quali lo spessore della membrana basale glomerulare, il numero di cariche anioniche glomerulari e l'albuminuria per quanto riguarda la nefropatia diabetica, i livelli di sostanza P e di met-Encefalina in alcuni distretti intestinali, quali duodeno e digiuno, per quanto riguarda la neuropatia diabetica.
