Abstract
【解決手段】前記課題は、少なくとも1種の樹脂、及び、この組成物の全質量に対して、0.1〜15質量%の、

本発明の第1の実施態様は、硬化した及び硬化していないゲルコート組成物であって、
−BET表面積150〜250m2/g、
−SiO2含有量98.5質量%以上、
−Na2O含有量0.5質量%以下
を有する少なくとも1種の沈殿シリカを含有する硬化した及び硬化していないゲルコート組成物である。
上述のパラメーターに加えて、相互に独立して、1つ又は複数の以下の物理化学的パラメーター:
−450μS/cm以下の導電率、
−平均粒径0.1〜14μm
を有する沈降シリカを含有する硬化した及び硬化していないゲルコートをも提供する。
−BET表面積150〜250m2/g、
−SiO2含有量98.5質量%以上、
−Na2O含有量0.5質量%以下
を有する少なくとも1種の沈降シリカを含有し、前記シリカが、少なくとも1種の不飽和ポリエステル樹脂と組み合わされた(例えば混合された)、硬化した及び硬化していないゲルコートを調製する方法を提供する。

反応条件及び本発明のゲルコート中で使用される沈降シリカの物理的/化学的データは、以下の方法で測定される:
BET表面積の決定
BET表面積をISO 9277に従って測定する。この手順を、BET手順に応じたシリカ及びシリケートのN2比表面積を決定するために使用する。ここで説明する方法を用いてこの測定された値を、十分に定義された分圧での窒素の低温吸着により決定する。この分析を、多重点決定(multipoint determination)として達成し、全体で5つの点の測定を用いて0.05〜0.2の分圧範囲(p/p0)において線形の挙動を示す。
n−ブチルフタラート(DBP)吸収係数(absorption number)の決定を、DBP吸収計(absorptometer)を用いてDIN 53601に応じて実施する。これを、ケイ酸及びシリカートの液体吸着性能力を判断するために使用する。
ISO 787-2に従って、乾燥減量をシリカ及びシリカート中で決定する。栓を外した秤量びんを炉中で105℃で少なくとも1時間加熱する。デシケーター中での冷却及び栓の挿入後に、これを、正確な天秤の上で(少なくとも)最も近い0.01gへと量る。10+1gの試料を、秤量びんの底部で不均一な層において塗り広げる。栓を再度挿入し、この充填された秤量びんを、0.01g(msp)の正確度でもって量り取る。この秤量びんを注意深く開け、栓(外して)と共に、炉中で105±2℃で2時間加熱する。この後に、この秤量びんをゆっくりと栓で閉め、デシケーター中で冷却させる。この秤量びんを、0.01g(mLOD)の正確度でもって量り取る。この試験の結果を、小数点1位でもって示す;0.1%未満の値を、「<0.1」として報告する。
1gのシリカの当初の試料材料を風袋を計った白金るつぼ中に正確に量りとり(msp)、1000℃で2時間加熱する。デシケーター中でのP2O5の存在下での冷却後に、このるつぼを再度量った。強熱減量後の質量(mLOI)を計算する。強熱減量(LOI)を次の式により規定する:
mLOI=強熱減量後の試料の質量[g]。
1gのシリカの当初の試料材料を風袋を計った白金るつぼ中に正確に量りとり(msp)、1000℃で2時間加熱する。デシケーター中でのP2O5の存在下での冷却後に、このるつぼを再度量った。強熱減量後の質量(mGV)を計算する。
Na2O含有量を、火炎原子吸着分光計により測定する。3.0gの当初の試料を白金カップ中で正確に量り取る。この試料を脱イオン水で湿潤させ、5mlの硫酸(1:1)及び25mlのフッ化水素酸を添加した。この試料を、煙の強力な形成が観察されるまでゆっくりと加熱する。残留する有機材料が褐色の残留物としてまだなお観察される場合には、この試料をH2O2で後処理する。この残留物を次いで、脱イオン水で希釈し、かつ溶解する。この溶液を50mlまで、目盛り付きの試料管中に充填する。

ISO 787-14に応じて、この方法を、水性のシリカ懸濁液及び抽出物それぞれの電気的な抵抗率(electrical resistivity)を決定するために使用する。
この平均粒径をISO 13320-1に従って測定する。この所定の試験手順は、レーザー回折による、シリカ及びシリカートの粒径分布0.04〜2500μmの測定を説明する。フラウンホーファーモデルを使用するレーザー回折の、粒径の決定のための適用は、粒子が、全ての方向において異なる強度パターンでもって光を散乱する現象に基づく。この散乱は、粒径に依存する。粒径が小さいほど、この散乱角は大きくなる。

本発明による硬化された不飽和ポリエステルゲルコート試料と、標準的な沈降シリカを含有する同一の処方物を比較するために、ネイビーブルー不飽和ポリエステルゲルコート処方物を以下に示したとおりに調製した。
本発明のゲルコート処方物(l−1)のと、公知技術によるゲルコート処方物(C−1及びC−2)の、レオロジー特性を比較するために、表2中に示されるとおり調製されたそれぞれのゲルコート試料のためのレオロジー特性を、以下のとおり測定した:
ブルックフィールドDV II+ProViscometer及びRVスピンドル♯3又は♯4を試料の粘度に応じて使用した。粘度の読み取りを、2及び20RPMで記録した。チキソトロピー指数を、2RPMでの粘度と20RPMでの粘度との比として計算した。この初期の粘度及びチキソトロープ値を表3中に詳細に示す。本発明の処方物l−1における増粘性充填剤として使用されるSipernat(R) FPS-5は、本発明によらない例C−1及びC−2において使用される他の2つのシリカSipernat(R) 22LS及びZeothix(R) 265の性能を、増粘能力及びチキソトロープ指数においてうわまわった。これは注目に値すべきものであり、というのは、Sipernat(R) 22LS及びZeothix(R) 265は、この産業により、不飽和ポリエステルゲルコート中で有効なチキソトロープであることが良く知られているからである。以下の表3は、実験結果の要約を示す:
着色保持を試験するためにゲル被覆されたラミネートを、表2中に示されるゲルコート処方物を用いて製造した。このために、Norox(R) MEKP-9H、メチルエチルケトン過酸化物(MEKP)開始剤(NORAC(R), INC., Azusa, CA, USAにより製造)を、このゲルコートの硬化のために使用した。1.25質量%のMEKPをゲルコートに添加し、手で撹拌した。この開始されたゲルコートを次いで、12″×12″ガラスプレート上に、ドローダウンバー(draw down bar)により25ミル(0.6350mm)の厚さで設けた。このプレートを、Axel XTENDTM 818(AXEL Plastic Research Laboratories, INC., Woodside, NY, USAにより製造)、剥離剤を用いて処理した。室温での90分間の硬化の後に、このゲルコートを、繊維強化ポリエステルラミネートで支持した。Ashland M625-2、一般的な目的のオルトフタル系ラミネート樹脂で飽和した4層の1.5オンスのガラスマットを、ゲルコートの後ろに手積みした。このラミネート樹脂を、Norox(R) MEKP-9開始剤で硬化させ、室温で24時間硬化させ、次いで4時間60℃で後硬化させた。硬化後に、それぞれのプレートを、4つの100mm×150mmの大きさの片に裁断した。

−0.5質量%以下のNa2O含有量
を有する少なくとも1種の沈降シリカを含有する、
硬化したか又は硬化していないゲルコート組成物。 - 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、450μS/cm以下の導電率を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、0.1〜14μmの平均粒径を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、170〜200m2/gのBET表面積を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、99.0〜99.9質量%のSiO2含有量を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、0.01〜0.5質量%のNa2O含有量を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、1〜150μS/cmの導電率を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の沈降シリカが、2〜8.5μmの平均粒径を有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の不飽和ポリエステル樹脂を含有する、請求項1記載の硬化していないゲルコート組成物。
- 平均重量分子量1300〜110000を有する少なくとも1種の不飽和ポリエステル樹脂を含有する、請求項1記載の硬化していないゲルコート組成物。
- 更に、少なくとも1種の無機顔料及び/又は少なくとも1種の有機顔料を含有する、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 前記樹脂が硬化される、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物。
- 少なくとも1種のポリエステル樹脂を含有する、請求項1記載の硬化したゲルコート組成物。
- 請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物を調製する方法であって、前記の少なくとも1種のシリカを、少なくとも1種の不飽和ポリエステルと組み合わせて、ゲルコート組成物を形成し、この後に場合により、前記組成物を硬化させることを含む、請求項1記載のゲルコート組成物を調製する方法。
- 前記組成物を硬化させることを含む、請求項14記載のゲルコート組成物を調製する方法。
- 前記ゲルコート組成物を物品に設け、その後に硬化させることを含む、請求項15記載のゲルコート組成物を調製する方法。
- 物品が、船艇、風車、スイミングプール、槽、シャワー、衛生器具、タンク、パイプ、タンク、ダクト、ヒュームスタック、羽目、船、電気部品、航空機部品、及び、電子部品からなる群から選択される、請求項16記載のゲルコート組成物を調製する方法。
- 請求項1に記載のゲルコート組成物を用いて被覆された物品。
- 前記ゲルコート組成物が硬化される、請求項18記載の物品。
- 前記物品が繊維強化される、請求項19記載の物品。
- 物品が、船艇、風車、スイミングプール、槽、シャワー、衛生器具、タンク、パイプ、タンク、ダクト、ヒュームスタック、羽目、船、電気部品、航空機部品、及び、電子部品からなる群から選択される、請求項19記載の物品。
- このゲルコートが、ポリエステル樹脂を含有し、かつ、前記物品が船体である、請求項19記載の物品。
