−Rhoplex(登録商標)E−1691は、Rohm&Hass Companyから販売されている。
−Hycar(登録商標)679、Hycar(登録商標)0202、Vycar(登録商標)460x63及びVycar(登録商標)460x46は、Lubrizol Inc.から販売されているラテックス成分である。
−Lucidene(登録商標)645は、Rohm&Haas Companyから販売されているアクリルウレタンポリマーである。
−Neocar(登録商標)Latex 2300は、Dow Chemical Comp.から販売されている。
−Ucar(登録商標)Latex 455は、Dow Chemicalから販売されている自己架橋性アクリルラテックスである。
−Suncryl(登録商標)SV−100は、Omnova Inc.から販売されているスチレンビニル−アセテートである。
−Carboset(登録商標)SA 860は、Lubrizol Inc.から販売されている。
−Acronal(登録商標)S 760は、BASFから販売されているスチレンアクリルラテックスポリマーである。
−Ucar(登録商標)DT 400は、Dow Chemicalから販売されている。
−AC 420(登録商標)は、BG Bondから販売されているアクリルポリマーである。
−LEG−1は、Liponicsから販売されている共溶剤である。
−Zonyl(登録商標)FSOは、Dupont Inc.から販売されている界面活性剤である。
−Surfynol(登録商標)SEFは、Air Productsから販売されている界面活性剤である。
−Cab−O−Jet(登録商標)300は、Cabot Corporationから販売されている自己分散性顔料である。
−Joncryl(登録商標)586は、BASF Corpから販売されているスチレンアクリルバインダである。
以下の表1に従って、ブラックインクジェットインク組成物を調製する。全てのパーセントは、インク組成物の全重量に基づく重量パーセント(重量%)で表現されている。
表2にしたがって前処理組成物1、2及び3を調製する。全てのパーセントは、前処理組成物の重量に基づく重量パーセント(重量%)によって表される。
前処理組成物1は、例2で説明したように、金属塩としてCaCl2を含み、異なる酸価を有する異なる樹脂で、60℃で1週間後維持した後、その安定性を試験する。結果を下の表3に示す。このような試験は、低い酸価(つまり、20を下回るAN)を有する樹脂が、定着剤により安定となっているが、高い酸価を有する樹脂はそうではないことをを示す。
組成物I〜V(表4に示す)を、印刷性能について試験した。表4では、数字は、前処理組成物の全重量に基づく重量当たりのパーセント(重量%)を示す。結果を表5に示す。
式Iに基づく、異なるレベルのNeocar(登録商標)latex 2300(0、12、18、24、30、36、42及び48%)を含有するいくつかの前処理組成物を、その印刷性能及びその耐性について評価する。このような異なる組成物を、工業的コーティング定着により媒体上にロール塗布する。次に、一連の同一の画像を、例1に示すような配合を有するブラックインクでHP T−300ウェブプレスを使用して印刷する。
Claims (12)
- a.液体ビヒクル、
b.前処理組成物の全重量の1〜20重量%の量で存在する、定着剤としての多価金属塩、及び
c.前記前処理組成物の全重量の20〜50重量%の量で存在する、20未満の酸価を有するラテックス樹脂を含む、
非多孔質の記録媒体上にインクジェット記録するための前処理組成物。 - 前記定着剤が、塩化カルシウム、硝酸カルシウム、硝酸マグネシウム、酢酸マグネシウム又は酢酸亜鉛からなる群から選択される多価金属塩である、請求項1に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記定着剤が、塩化カルシウム又は硝酸カルシウムである、請求項1に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記ラテックス樹脂が、18未満の酸価を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記ラテックス樹脂が、アクリルポリマー、ビニル−アクリルコポリマー及びアクリル−ポリウレタンコポリマーからなる群から選択されるポリマー又はコポリマーである、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記ラテックス樹脂が、150,000〜300,000の平均分子量を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 25℃で測定して1〜2000cpsの範囲内の粘性を有する、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 前記組成物が、1.5重量%までの界面活性剤をさらに含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の前処理組成物。
- 耐性のある画像を非多孔質の記録媒体上にインクジェット印刷する方法であって、
a.前処理組成物を前記記録媒体に塗布し、当該前処理組成物が、液体ビヒクル、前記前処理組成物の全重量の1〜20重量%の量で存在する、定着剤としての多価金属塩、及び前記前処理組成物の全重量の20〜50重量%の量で存在する、20未満の酸価を有するラテックス樹脂を含み、
b.前記記録媒体上にインク組成物を塗布し、当該インク組成物が、水性液体ビヒクル及び着色剤を含み、当該インクが前処理組成物に上刷りされる、方法。 - 前記前処理組成物が、コーティング装置を用いて前記記録媒体上に塗布され、前記インク組成物が、前記記録媒体上にインクジェットノズルを介して噴射される、請求項9に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記前処理組成物の前記記録媒体上への前記塗布の仕上げ時点と、前記インク組成物の塗布の開始時点との間の時間間隔が、0.0001秒〜80秒である、請求項9または10に記載の印刷方法。
- 前記前処理組成物が、前記記録媒体上に、市販のロールコーティング装置を使用してロール塗布される、請求項9〜11のいずれか1項に記載の印刷方法。
