Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily carry out the beam hardening of a steel material into attractive external appearance at a low cost by coating the surface of a steel material with light absorbing dye and then irradiating the above steel material by light beam. CONSTITUTION:A steel material is irradiated by light beam to undergo beam hardening working. In the above beam hardening method for the steel material, the steel material is previously immersed in a solution of light absorbing dye, such as blacking dye, by which the steel-material surface is coated with the above light absorbing dye. Then, the above beam hardening is applied to the above steel material. By this method, a hardening effect equal to that in the case where an absorbent for preventing beam reflection is applied to the steel material can be obtained, and, owing to the above light absorbing dye remaining after hardening, an attractive external appearance as well as a rust-preventing effect can be produced.

[Prior art] Conventionally, when hardening steel materials using a high-energy beam such as a laser beam, the metallic luster of the steel material to be hardened causes the beam to be reflected, which prevents absorption of the beam. As a pretreatment, an absorbent for preventing beam reflection was applied to the steel surface. As the absorbent for preventing beam reflection, for example, heat-absorbing mica or ceramic powder dissolved in a solvent has been conventionally used, and this has been coated on the surface of the steel material by bald coating or the like.

[Problem to be solved by the invention] However, depending on the surface shape of the steel material, it is difficult to apply the absorbent for preventing beam reflection, and even after beam hardening, it is sometimes necessary to wipe off the absorbent with a solvent. However, the work before and after beam hardening tends to be complicated, and the use of volatile solvents poses hygiene problems. Furthermore, the price of the absorbent itself is relatively high, and if the application time is not taken into account, the cost will be considerably high.

The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and it is easy to apply a light absorbing agent to the surface of steel materials, and at the same time, it has a rust-preventing effect after finishing, and has a beautiful appearance. It is an object of the present invention to provide a beam hardening method that also exhibits the following characteristics.

[Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve this object, the present invention immerses a steel material in advance in a light-absorbing dye solution such as a black dye to coat the surface of the steel material with the light-absorbing dye, and then It is characterized in that it is later subjected to beam hardening.

[Function] According to the beam hardening method of the present invention having the above configuration, the same level of hardening condition (quenching width, hardening depth, average hardness, etc.) as in the case where a beam antireflection absorbent is applied can be obtained. . Furthermore, after quenching, light-absorbing dyes protect the surface of the steel material, providing rust-proofing and beautifying effects.

A flat plate specimen treated with C was treated with a black dyeing treatment of several μm, which has a high absorption rate of CO and laser light;
2. Prepare both the materials coated with an absorbent for preventing reflection of laser light and perform laser hardening. The black dyeing process is usually done by the method used for boat fishing, i.e. phosphoric acid, chrome-1.
This was done by immersing it in a black dye solution after performing a base treatment such as - system. For laser hardening, a laser beam having a rectangular cross section with a diagonal of 8.0 mm and 7.8 mm was used, and the surface of the flat test piece was irradiated with the laser beam to perform laser hardening. The laser hardening conditions are shown in the table below.

(see drawing). As a result, there was no difference in hardening width, hardening depth, hardness distribution, etc. between the black dyed test piece and the absorbent coated test piece, and the quality was satisfactory. In addition, with the corrosion-resistant dust treated with black dyeing, better results were obtained than with the conventional anti-reflection absorber.6 However, the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned examples. In addition to black dyes, black pigments, etc., are important as long as a beam-absorbing film is formed on the surface of the steel material by immersing the steel material, and that film has excellent corrosion resistance and is beautiful in appearance.
Of course, the quenching conditions such as beam scanning density and beam output are determined by the material of the steel, quenching hardness, light-absorbing dye, etc.

[Effects of the Invention] As is clear from the detailed description above, according to the present invention, in beam hardening of steel materials, by performing surface treatment = 5- with a light-absorbing dye such as a black dye as a pretreatment, The same level of beam hardening quality and performance as before can be obtained. In addition, it is a simple method that involves simply immersing the steel material in a treatment solution, and it also has the advantage that troublesome operations such as wiping the surface of the steel material with a solution after quenching are not necessary. Moreover, since the entire surface of the steel material is coated, added values such as rust prevention and beautification remain on the steel material after quenching.
