Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] この発明は、ポリエチレン管、ポリブテン管等のプラス
チック管の融着継手構造に関するものである。
[従来の技術] 従来からポリエチレン管の接着方法の1つとして、熱融
着継手方式、通称EFF (エレクトロフユージョンフ
ィティング)方式がある。例えばソケットにより管を接
続する場合、第5図に示すように、ソケット2の内面2
a近くに電熱線3を周方向にスパイラル状に埋設してお
き、このソケット2に被接続管1を差し込んで、ターミ
ナル3aから電熱線3に通電してジュール熱を発生させ
、この熱でソケット2の内面2a及び被接続管1の外面
1aを溶融させて接合する。また、管に分岐部を設ける
場合には、第6図に示すように、サドル状本体部7に分
岐部8を突設した分岐サドル6の本体部内面7a近くに
、電熱線9を分岐部8を中心にしてスパイラル状に埋設
しておいて、」−記と同様にして、サドル6を管1に押
圧融着して分岐部を形成し、最後に分岐穴1cをあけて
いる。
[解決しようとする課題] しかし、ソケット2に管1を差し込んで接合lまた場合
、第5図に示すように、ソケット2の内面2aと管1の
端面1bによるコーナー部Cが形成される。また、管端
部に未融着部が残った場合には、ここにスリットが形成
される。そして、管1に内圧や軸力が付加されると、こ
のコーナー部Cやスリット部に応力集中が生じ、長期間
の使用を考えると、プラスチック特有のクリープ現象に
ょって、この部分から割れが生ずる危険がある。また、
電熱線3(銅、その他)自体はポリエチレン樹脂との接
着性が悪いため、上記の割れがこの電熱線埋め込み部に
つながると、割れがそれ以上進行しなくても、流体が割
れから電熱線を伝わって漏洩する危険が多い。一方、管
1にサドル6を接着した場合にも、第6図に示すように
、サドル6の分岐部8の穴8aの端部と管1との融着部
にコーナー部Cが形成され、また、電熱線9の最も内側
の位置は施工上穴8aの外周から若干離れているので、
この部に未融着部が残り、スリット部が形成され、上記
と同様な問題が生ずる。
この発明は上記のような問題点を解消することを課題と
するものである。
[課題を解決するための手段] この発明のプラスチック管の融着継手構造は、継手部材
の被接続管との融着接続端部に、応力集中部となるコー
ナー部が形成されないようににするため、応力集中を軽
減する断面円弧状の溝を設けると共に、上記溝内にOリ
ングを装着したことを特長とするものである。
[作用] 継手部材の被接続管との融着接続端部に、応力集中部と
なるコーナー部が形成されないようにするため、応力集
中を軽減する断面円弧状の溝を設けた構成により、従来
問題になっていた応力集中の問題を解消することができ
る。また、溝内にOリングを装着したので、シール性(
気密性能)を向上させることができる。
[実施例] 以下、本発明の1実施例を継手部材10としてのソケッ
ト11により管を接続する場合について第1〜2図によ
り説明する。
ソケット11の内面11aの、被接続管1の差し込み融
着端部に位置して、応力集中を軽減すると共に、Oリン
グ13の装着保持部となる断面円弧状の溝12が形成さ
れている。この溝12の曲率半径は8〜10關となって
いる。そして、溝12にOリング13を装着し、管1を
差込んで、第2図に示す状態にしてから、ソケット11
を従来と同様にして管1に融着する。管1の端部1bと
ソケット内面11aとの間にコーナー部が形成されず、
またスリット部も形成されないので、この部分での応力
集中が大幅に軽減される。即ち、従来の応力集中係数2
.5〜3が、1.2〜1.5に軽減される。その上、溝
〕2にOリング13が装着されているので、電熱線3に
沿っての流体の漏洩が防II−されるので、シール性を
向上させることができる。
次に、継手部・材10としての分岐サドル16を管1に
融着して分岐部を形成する場合について、第3〜4図よ
り説明する。
サドル16の分岐部18部の穴18aの管1との融着接
続端部に、応力集中を軽減すると共にOリングの装青部
となる溝19が形成されている。
そして、溝19にOリング20を装着し、管1に押圧し
て、第4図に示す状態にしてから、サドル16を従来と
同様にして管1に融着する。分岐部の穴18aの端部と
管1のとの間にコーナー部が形成されず、この間に集中
応力を軽減する溝19があるから、スリット部も形成さ
れないので、この部分での応力集中が大幅に軽減される
。なお、Oリング20により上記例の場合と同様の効果
を得ることができる。
[発明の効果コ この発明のプラスチック管の融着継手構造は、上記のよ
うなもので、継手部材の被接続管との融着接続部での集
中応力を軽減することができる。
また、融る接続部での、シール性(気密性能)を向上さ
せることができる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1.  継手部材の被接続管との融着接続端部に、応力集中部
    となるコーナー部が形成されないようにするために、応
    力集中を軽減する断面円弧状の溝を設けると共に、上記
    溝内にOリングを装着したことを特徴とするプラスチッ
    ク管の融着継手構造。
