[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Objective of the Invention] (Industrial Field of Application) The present invention is directed to the use of external air taken in by an air guide through a grille to a new air conditioner such as an intercooler through an air duct provided in an engine hood. The present invention relates to a vehicle that sprays air onto an object to be cooled, and particularly relates to an improvement of an external air intake structure.

(Prior Art) Heat dissipating parts such as an engine and a radiator are arranged in the engine room of a vehicle. Therefore, a grill is provided at the front end of the vehicle body, and as the vehicle is driven, outside air is taken in from there and guided to the heat dissipating parts. It is supposed to cool down. However, recently, for example, the engine is often equipped with a turbocharger device that supplies supercharging air, and this device and its component parts such as an intercooler are placed in the engine room as new objects to be cooled. An intercooler 4 of a turbocharger device, which is a new object to be cooled, is mounted above the engine 2. A grill 5 is provided at the front end of the engine compartment 1, so that external air can be taken into the engine compartment 1. In addition, a pair of air guide lowers (only one shown) spaced apart from each other are opened in a bridge panel 6 provided across the width at the upper part of the front end of the engine room 1, and the upper end of the air guide 8 is opened here. Connected. This air guide 8 is curved toward the front grille 5 from the connection portion of the wind guide lower, and opens at a position near the grille 5.

In the figure, 10 is an engine hood. The rear side of the engine hood 10 is pivotally connected to the vehicle body via a hinge (not shown), and the upper opening of the engine compartment 1 can be opened and closed. This engine hood 10 is composed of a hood outer 11 and a hood inner 12, each of which is made of a thin metal plate. The outer hood 11 is curved along the curved surface of the vehicle body, and the inner hood 12 is fixed to each other along the periphery of the outer hood 11 so as to form a closed cross section. The front end of the hood inner 12 is as follows.

One end, the air intake side, is bifurcated and connected to the adapter 15.15. The other end is extended to face the upper part of the intercooler 4, which is the object to be cooled, and an air outlet 17 is opened in the lower surface thereof. In order to attach the air duct 16 in this manner, a duct attachment bracket 18 made of a metal plate is attached to the lower surface of the hood inner 12 by means such as spot welding. Mounting screw holes 19 are provided at appropriate positions on the peripheral end of the duct mounting bracket 18.

Thus, part of the external air taken into the engine compartment 1 from the grille 5 as the vehicle travels can be guided to the air guide 8. From here, the external air is guided to the air duct 16 via the air guide lower and the adapter 15, and is blown out from the air outlet 17 to the intercooler 4, thereby efficiently cooling the intercooler 4.

In particular, there are problems with the air guide 8 that takes in outside air and its mounting structure. In other words, the air guide 8
is attached to the bridge panel 6 only at its upper open end, and the front open end on the side of the grille 5 is in a so-to-speak condition, with a certain amount of clearance 11 between it and the grille 5. From this, the external air introduced from the grille 5 is transferred to the air guide 8.
The air leaks from the gap before it is taken into the air guide 8, resulting in poor suction efficiency as the air guide 8. Also,
The bridge panel 6 is provided to ensure the rigidity of the vehicle body, but since a lower wind guide is opened here to communicate with the upper end opening of the air guide 8, this has a negative effect on maintaining rigidity. .

The present invention was made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and it ensures suction efficiency by guiding all the external air introduced from the grille to the air guide without leaking, and directs the external air from this air guide to the air duct of the engine hood. The external air intake of the vehicle eliminates the opening in the bridge panel to ensure the rigidity of the vehicle body, and improves the cooling efficiency of the object to be cooled by arbitrarily setting the air circulation area of the air duct. The purpose is to provide an input structure.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In other words, the present invention includes arranging an object to be cooled such as an intercooler, providing a grill at the front end thereof, and constructing a bridge panel in the width direction at a predetermined distance from the grill. The engine room has an engine room with an air duct integrally attached to the upper opening of the engine room, and the engine hood is pivoted to open and close freely. The air guide is guided to the air duct of the engine hood and sprayed onto the object to be cooled.

The front end opening of the air guide is connected to the grille, the upper opening of the air guide is interposed between the grille and the bridge panel, and the upper opening of the air guide is connected to the air duct of the engine hood through a guide seal. (Function) As the vehicle travels, external air is taken in from the grille to the air guide, guided from there into the air duct, and then blown out to the object to be cooled for cooling. Since the grille and the air guide were connected, there was no leakage, and since a guide seal was interposed between the air guide and the air duct, there was no leakage here either. Also, there is no need for an opening in the bridge panel.

A grill 5S is provided at the front end of the engine compartment 1 to draw air into the engine compartment 1 as the vehicle travels, and a bridge panel 6 is installed in the width direction at a predetermined distance from the bracket grill 5s. . Incidentally, if the position of this bridge panel 6 is the same as the conventional one, the position of the grille 5S is extended to a certain extent toward the front side, so that a space is created between them. As a result, the car body will have a longer nose. A pair of air guides 20 (only one shown) is provided spaced apart between the grill 5S and the bridge panel 6. As shown in FIG. 4, the air guide 20 has an end 20a that opens toward the front side and an end 20b that opens toward the top surface, and is entirely curved. As described above, according to the present invention, the external air introduced from the grille is guided to the air guide without leaking, thereby improving the suction efficiency. In addition, external air is guided from the air guide to the air duct of the engine hood via a guide seal, completely eliminating air leakage and eliminating the need to open an air guide port in the bridge panel as in the conventional case. This ensures the rigidity of the vehicle body. At the same time, the air circulation area of the air duct section can be set arbitrarily, and the cooling efficiency for the object to be cooled can be improved.
