Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable mounting a connector having the desired number of connector pins on a printed circuit board quickly by operating almost concurrently a connector housing pressing process and a connector pin insertion process. CONSTITUTION:When a printed circuit board 1 is mounted with a connector comprising connector pins 15 for passing and fixing a connector side terminal part 15c through insertion holes 12 arrayed on a housing bottom 13, and a connector housing, a pressing head 20 for clamping the pins 15, vertically retaining the desired number of the pins 15 and vertically actuating the pins 15 is provided on the top of a device body. Also, an XY table 30 for driving the printed circuit board 1 horizontally and causing a selected through hole row to come just below the head 20 is provided under the head 20. On the other hand, a pickup head 40 is provided under the body in such a way that a housing 11 is retained via the coupling of a core block 42 to a housing cavity 14 and the housing 11 is vertically driven while kept just below a through hole row for pin insertion.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Summary] The present invention relates to a connector mounting device for mounting a connector on a printed wiring board, and the object of the present invention is to provide a connector mounting device that requires a short mounting time and is free from the risk of connector pins being bent. The mounting device mounts a connector consisting of a connector housing and connector pins that pass through insertion holes arranged on the bottom surface of the housing and a connector housing on a printed wiring board, and the mounting device mounts a connector on a printed wiring board, and the mounting device mounts a connector on a printed wiring board, and inserts a desired number of the connectors by sandwiching the terminal portion on the board side. While the pins are held vertically at a predetermined pitch, a press-fitting head mounted on the top of the device main body that can be driven vertically and the printed wiring board are held horizontally, and the selected through-hole row is inserted into the press-fitting head. An x-y table moves the printed wiring board as desired so that it is located directly below the head, and a core block is fitted into the housing cavity to hold the connector housing, and the insertion hole row is connected to the through hole row. A pickup head is installed at the bottom of the main body of the device so that it can be driven in the vertical direction while being located directly below the device, and the pickup head is driven to press the bottom surface of the housing against the bottom surface of the printed wiring board. At the same time, by driving the press-fitting head 20 to lower the connector pin,
The connector side terminal portion is press-fitted and fixed into the insertion hole, and the bulge portion of the connector pin is elastically fixed into the through hole.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the present invention is a connector mounting device configured such that the process of pressing the connector housing and the process of inserting the connector pins are performed almost simultaneously, and which has a desired number of connector pins. The connector can be mounted on the printed wiring board in an extremely short time, and the connector-side terminal portion is structured so that the through-hole and the insertion hole communicate with each other, so that it looks as if it were inserted into one through-hole. This has an excellent practical effect in that there is no risk of bending the connector pins.
