Abstract

PURPOSE:To cool a printing head efficiently by providing a plate-shaped air collection vane having a cross section whose central part protrudes conically toward radiation fins on the rear side of said fins provided behind the main body of the printing head. CONSTITUTION:Radiation fins 4 for cooling a printing head during printing are provided behind a main body 1 of the printing head. On the rear side of said fins, a plate-shaped air collection vane 5 having a cross section whose central part protrudes in the shape of V toward the fins 4. When the printing head moves in the direction A, air flows from a part A' in the direction B and runs against the fins 4, wherein the flow passage is narrowed along a vane 5a on one side of the vane 5 toward the central part of the fins 4 so that the speed of the air flow increases, resulting in efficient cooling of the printing head. Then the air flows out through a part B'. When the printing head moves in the direction B, on the contrary, the air flows in the direction A from the part B' and the air speed increases along a vane 5b to cool the printing head and then the air flows out through the part A'.

(Prior art) In order to prevent temperature rise during printing, conventional print heads for serial printers are equipped with heat-radiating fins made of metal with good thermal conductivity. It is designed to cool the print head.

(Problem to be Solved) According to the above-mentioned conventional technology, the speed of the wind hitting the radiation fins depends on the speed at which the head moves, and it was not possible to apply high-speed wind. Furthermore, when using the print head in Europe, it is dangerous to touch the high-temperature heat dissipation fins with your hands, so it is necessary to cover them with rubber, etc., and the heat cannot be dissipated effectively from the heat dissipation fins. It could not be cooled down.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, the print head for a serial printer according to the present invention has a print head with a central part facing the heat dissipating fin side on the back side of the heat dissipating fin provided at the rear of the head main body. A plate-shaped air collection vane with a concave cross-sectional shape is provided.

(Function) Due to the air collection blades, when the print head moves, the wind that hits the heat radiation fins increases in speed as it reaches the center of the heat radiation fins, allowing the print head to be efficiently cooled.

(Example) Hereinafter, an example of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, a flexible cable 2 for connecting the serial printer print head to a control circuit (not shown) is provided on the back of the head body 1, and a drive coil (not shown) is provided on the back side of the head body 1. The ends 3 of are connected. A heat dissipation fin 4 is provided at the rear of the head body 1 for cooling the print head during printing. Furthermore, as shown in FIG.

Next, the effect will be explained. As shown in FIG. 2, the print head is placed on a carrier (not shown) and moves in the direction of the arrow to advance a print element (not shown) to form dots on a print medium (not shown) facing the print head. At this time, the print head generates heat, but when the print head moves in the A direction, air enters the B direction from the A'' section and hits the heat dissipation fins 4, but as it reaches the center of the heat dissipation fins 4,
Since the flow path is narrowed by one blade 5a of the air collection blade 5, the wind increases its speed and efficiently cools the print head and exits from the print head from part B''.When the print head moves in the B direction Contrary to the above, the wind enters the direction A from part B, and as it reaches the center of the radiation fin 4, the air collection blade 5b
The wind increases in speed, cools the print head, and exits the print head from part A''.

Note that the cross-sectional shape of the air collection blades 5 is not limited to this embodiment, and it is sufficient that the central portion is recessed toward the radiation fins 4 side.

また、水平壁部6,6はなくてもよい。Moreover, the horizontal wall parts 6, 6 may not be provided.

Further, an extension part 6 is provided on the upper part of the air collection wing 5 as shown in FIG.
A may also be provided integrally to serve as a cover for the radiation fin.
