This block 1 has a substantially semi-cylindrical shape and is integrally formed with a metal band 2 on the inner peripheral surface. The metal strip 2 has protrusions 5 at both ends thereof that protrude from a dividing surface 4 which is formed by dividing the cylindrical body of the refractory part 3 into two, and a joining protrusion 6 is welded to the surface joined to the refractory part 3. Or it is formed by cutting and raising it. Such a block 1 is described in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 55-33104, and is used for insulating the surface of a water-cooled pipe, such as a water-cooled skid of a heating furnace, and is attached to the pipe surface using a protrusion 5. Ru. The protruding portion 5 may be used in a straight state, or may be used with its tip bent. It should be noted that the shape of the block 1 may be such that the cross section is semi-circular, half-width, etc., and the block 1 may be divided into three or four parts instead of two.

The lower mold 7 has an upper surface that roughly corresponds to the shape of the divided surface side of the block 1, and has a semicylindrical convex surface 8, a flat surface 9 extending outward from both sides of the convex surface 8, and protrusions 5 at both ends of the metal strip. and a hole 10 provided in the plane 9 into which the holder can be inserted. The protrusions 5 at both ends of the metal band 2 are inserted into the holes 10 of the lower mold 7, the frame mold 11 is installed, and the potted clay 12 is put inside and compressed by pressing from above with the upper mold 13. , block 1 is obtained.

Cleaning 0 is a hassle. (3) A method that can be considered is to provide a large groove or through hole at the bottom of the hole to allow the fine powder to fall and be discharged to the outside, but this increases the mold manufacturing cost. (4) If the protruding portion 5 requires bending, that processing can only be done after block forming. Therefore, it is very time consuming and the machining accuracy is poor.

A presser foot is formed separately from the lower die main body with a length corresponding to the width dimension of the metal band so as to include the entire length of the upper surface of the side part or at least the protruding position of the metal band, and to make it removable and to prevent the protrusion of the metal band. It is characterized by having a notch corresponding to the part.

It is possible to form refractory blocks. Since the presser foot is removable, it is easy to remove the end of the metal band even if fine powder from the cup soil gets into the notch, and it is also easy to clean. If required, a pre-bent metal strip can be used.

Since it is possible to use a metal strip that has been bent from scratch, the processing accuracy is good and the block can be precisely attached to the metal pipe. In this respect, compared to the conventional case of bending the ends of the metal strip after block forming, the quality is improved and the processing time is significantly shortened, resulting in a cost reduction effect.
