In particular, the present invention relates to an improvement in an automobile in which a front portion of a vehicle body mainly made of synthetic resin supported by front wheels and a power transmission unit supported by rear wheels are connected via an engine.

.. 6, they are connected so as to be separable and connectable. Therefore, shocks such as bending and twisting are applied from the ground to the engine through the front and rear wheels 2 and 4, and the magnitude of the impact is a gravitational acceleration of 5G or more. This distorts the engine block, increases friction in bearings and sliding parts, and causes problems that reduce maximum output.

Although the engine is mounted with the axis of the crankshaft facing forward and backward, it is not sufficient, and it becomes necessary to increase the wall thickness of the engine case, and in some cases, it becomes necessary to install ribs on the outer surface of the engine, resulting in an unnecessary increase in weight. It's inviting. Further, in order to increase resistance to bending force, the angle between the left and right cylinder rows, the so-called bank angle, is sometimes set to be smaller than 90 degrees, but the effect is significantly reduced when torsional force acts on the engine.

In a competition car in which a power transmission unit supported by the front and rear wheels is connected in the front and back, and the crankshaft of a V-shaped engine constituting the power transmission unit is mounted with the crankshaft facing in the front-rear direction, the cylinder block of the engine is Consisting of left and right cylinder rows and a lower crankcase that connects them, ribs are provided in the front and rear directions on the left and right outer surfaces of the cylinder block, and a portion of the ribs are connected to a water jacket and a water pump. It is unique in that it is constructed with an integrally cast water pipe.

A simple bending force as shown by arrow A in FIGS. 3 and 4 acts on the vehicle, and a torsion force B acts on the vehicle when turning or when only one of the left and right wheels 2.4 passes through a convex portion on the ground.

As a result of this, the deformation of the reinforcing wall 7h is reduced, so that no deformation is applied to the internal shaft or bearing, and no increase in frictional resistance occurs.

Even if a strong bending force is applied to the cylinder block 7a due to irregularities on the ground, deformation is prevented by the reinforcing wall 7h protruding from the outer surface of the cylinder block 7a parallel to the crankshaft, and deformation of the engine is suppressed to a minimum. output loss can be reduced. Further, since the reinforcing wall 7h for preventing the deformation also serves as a water passage to the water jacket 7f, the structure can be simplified.
