DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Industrial Field of Application 1] The present invention relates to a novel polymerization inhibitor for styrene. More specifically, the present invention has an extremely excellent effect of preventing styrene polymerization even in the absence of oxygen, and can effectively prevent styrene polymerization even when added in a small amount to the styrene distillation process. As a result, the present invention relates to a polymerization inhibitor composition for styrene which has the excellent feature of significantly reducing the amount of nitrogen oxide gas generated during incineration of styrene distillation residue. [Prior art] Styrene is polystyrene, ABS resin, AS resin, A
Synthetic resins such as CS resin, AES resin, AAS resin and S
It is known to be an extremely important compound as a monomer for synthetic rubber such as BH, or as a raw material for various organic chemicals. Conventionally, the method for producing high-purity styrene was to dehydrogenate ethylbenzene, then distill the reaction product.
A method is used to separate and purify the produced styrene from unreacted raw materials and by-products. 4-Since styrenes such as styrene, substituted styrene, and divinylbenzene have the property of being extremely easily polymerized, in the distillation process, there are problems such as line blockage due to styrene polymer adhesion and styrene yield due to polymerization. In order to prevent deterioration, distillation is usually carried out in the presence of a polymerization inhibitor. Various compounds have been studied and put to practical use as such polymerization inhibitors, and among these, phenols, nitrophenols, and nitronephenols are known as representative ones. However, phenols represented by p-tert-butylcatechol have the disadvantage that oxygen does not coexist and that sufficient polymerization prevention effects cannot be obtained in high-temperature distillation processes. - Although nitrophenols, represented by dinitrophenol, are generally superior in polymerization prevention effects to the above-mentioned phenols, they must be added in large amounts to obtain a sufficient effect, resulting in toxicity to the human body and distillation residue. Problems such as the production of large amounts of harmful nitrogen oxide gas during incineration may occur. moreover,
This compound also has the problem that there is a limit to its polymerization-preventing effect, and the effect cannot be improved even if more is added. On the other hand, 2-methyl-4-nitrosophenol is known as a typical nitrosophenol, which has a superior polymerization-preventing effect compared to the above-mentioned compounds, and can be used only when added in a relatively small amount. However, good effects can be obtained,
Although the problem of toxicity to the human body and the problem of generation of harmful nitrogen oxide gas when incinerating the distillation residue are also alleviated, these problems are not yet completely satisfied. [Problem to be Solved by the Invention 1] The present invention overcomes the drawbacks of conventional polymerization inhibitors for styrene, has an extremely excellent effect of inhibiting styrene polymerization even in the absence of oxygen, and The purpose of this invention is to provide a polymerization inhibitor for styrene that generates a small amount of nitrogen oxide gas during incineration of distillation residue. 1 Means for Solving the Problems 1 As a result of intensive research to develop a polymerization inhibitor for styrene having the above-mentioned preferable properties, the present inventor has found that a composition in which nitrosophenols are combined with dicyclohexylammonium nitrite is Due to its synergistic effect, it has an extremely excellent effect of preventing styrene polymerization. Therefore, even if it is added in small amounts to the styrene distillation process, it can effectively prevent styrene polymerization, and as a result, the incineration of styrene distillation residue It was discovered that the amount of nitrogen oxide gas generated during treatment can be significantly reduced, and the present invention was completed based on this knowledge. That is, the present invention provides a polymerization inhibitor composition for styrene containing (A) nitrosophenols and (B) dicyclohexylammonium nitrite. The present invention will be explained in detail below. In the composition of the present invention, examples of the nitrosophenols used as component (A) include 4-nitronephenol, 2-methyl-4-nitrosophenol, 3-methyl-4-nitrosophenol, and 2-methyl-4-nitrosophenol. Nitronphenol. 2-pentyl-4-nitrosophenol, 2-hexyl-4-nitrosophenol, 2-cyclohexyl-4-
Nitronphenol, 2-(1,1\dimethylpropyl)-4-nitrosophenol, 2-(2-methylpentyl)-4-nitrosophenol, 2-(2-ethylbutyl)-4-nitrosophenol, 2-(3 , 3-dimethylbutyl)-4-nitrosophenol, 2-n-hebutyl-4-nitrosophenol, 2,3-dimethyl-4-
Nitronphenol, 2,5-dimethyl-4-nitrosophenol, 2,6-dimethyl-4-nitrosophenol,! , 3.5-)limethyl-4-nitrosophenol, 2,3. rho)limethyl-4-nitrosophenol,
2,3,5.6-tetra, methyl-4-nitrosophenol, etc. Among these, 2-methyl is particularly preferred due to its effect of inhibiting styrene polymerization, easy availability, and economic efficiency. -4-nitrosophenol and 2-tert
-Butyl-4-nitrosophenol is preferred. These nitrosophenols may be used alone or in combination of two or more. In the composition of the present invention, dicyclohexyl ammonium nitrite is used as component (B). This dicyclohexylammonium nitrite exhibits only a slight polymerization inhibiting effect when used alone, but when used in combination with the nitrone phenols of component (A), it exhibits an extremely excellent styrene polymerization inhibiting effect due to a synergistic effect. In the composition of the present invention, the ratio of the components (A) and (B) used is usually selected within the molar ratio of 1:9 to 9:11, preferably 3 nia to ani 3. If this usage ratio deviates from the above range, the object of the present invention cannot be fully achieved. If desired, the composition of the present invention may contain other conventionally known styrene polymerization inhibitors, such as p-tert-butylcatechol and 2,4-dinitrophenol, to the extent that the object of the present invention is not impaired. Good too. When using the composition of the present invention, in advance, the above (A)
The components and CB)
As with conventional polymerization inhibitors, both solutions may be dispensed into the inlets of each distillation column in the desired ratio, or may be injected all at once into the inlet of the first distillation column, or the (A Components () and (B) may be mixed in a desired ratio, dissolved in an appropriate solvent to prepare a solution with a concentration of about 1-10% by weight, and added to the styrene distillation system in the same manner as above. good. At this time, the solvent used is component (A) or (B).
There are no particular limitations as long as the material has solubility for the component () or both, can prepare a solution with a desired concentration, and does not have any adverse effect on the styrene distillation operation. The injection concentration varies depending on conditions such as temperature in the distillation process, but usually about 100 to 1500 ppm of styrene in the liquid to be treated is sufficient. In addition to styrene, the polymerization inhibitor of the present invention can also be applied to styrenes such as a-methylstyrene, substituted styrene in which a halogen atom or an alkyl group is introduced into the benzene nucleus, and divinylbenzene. 1 Example Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples in any way. Examples 1 and 2, Comparative Examples 1 to 6 Reagent grade styrene monomer was washed with an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, then washed with demineralized water, dehydrated with barium oxide, and distilled under reduced pressure at 60°C to obtain test styrene. It was used as This styrene IO layer was placed in a heat-resistant glass bottle, and each polymerization inhibitor shown in Table 1 was dissolved in the solvent shown in Table 1 and added to the bottle to give a desired concentration. Next, this bottle was placed in a glove box flowing high-purity nitrogen gas for more than 1 hour, and then the styrene solution was vigorously bubbled with nitrogen gas for 5 minutes, and the bottle was tightly stoppered. next,
This bottle was left in a constant temperature room at 110°C for 3 hours to heat it, then cooled, and the contents were poured into 250ml of methanol.
A was added dropwise little by little to precipitate a polymer. On this occasion,
For samples whose viscosity was too high due to advanced polymerization and were difficult to drop, chloroform was added to lower the viscosity and the sample was dropped. This precipitate was allowed to stand overnight and then shredded, filtered through an IG4 glass filter, and dried at 110° C. for 1 hour. After cooling, it was weighed, and the polymerization rate (the amount of polymer produced relative to the charged styrene expressed as a percentage) was determined by calculation. In addition, when styrene was used to dissolve the polymerization inhibitor, the styrene was added as the charged amount to calculate the polymerization rate. The results are shown in Table 1. Further, the relationship between the concentration of nitrogen atoms added to styrene in the polymerization inhibitor and the polymerization rate of styrene is shown graphically in FIG. From Table 1 and Figure 1, the synergistic effect of dicyclohexyl ammonium nitrite and nitrosophenols is remarkable, and by using them together, it is possible to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxide gas generated during the incineration of styrene distillation residue. It turns out that. (Left below) [Advantageous Effects of the Invention 1 The polymerization inhibitor composition for styrene of the present invention contains nitrosophenols and dicyclohexylammonium nitrite, and the synergistic effect of their combined use results in extremely excellent styrene production. It exhibits a polymerization prevention effect, and therefore, even when added in small amounts to the styrene distillation process, it can effectively prevent styrene polymerization, and as a result,
The amount of nitrogen oxide gas generated during incineration of styrene distillation residue can be significantly reduced.
