Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect faults of a transmission circuit and a reception circuit even when a sent signal and a received signal are sent/received by comparing a monitoring signal multiplexed with the sent signal with a monitoring signal demultiplexed from the received signal and detecting the faults of the transmission circuit and reception circuits. CONSTITUTION:The monitoring signal is multiplexed with the sent signal whose speed is converted into high-speed and inputted to the transmission circuit 6 which performs fault detection and the monitoring signal is demultiplexed from the output signal of the transmission circuit 6 and sent back. The monitoring signal is multiplexed with the received signal whose speed is converted into the high-speed and inputted to the reception circuit 7 which performs the fault detection. Further, the monitoring signal is demultiplexed from the output signal of the reception circuit 7 and compared with the monitoring signal multiplexed with the received signal to detect the faults of the transmission circuit 6 and reception circuit 7. Thus, while the sent signal and received signal are sent and received normally, the fault of the transmission circuit and reception circuit can be detected at all times.

Next, the operation will be explained. 1. Transmission signal input terminal 1
The transmission signal input from the communication device is subjected to processing necessary for transmission such as encoding in the transmission circuit 6, and is outputted to the transmission signal output terminal 3 and the communication line through the line interface 5. At this time, the signal outputted from the transmitting circuit 6 is further directly reflected and inputted to the selection circuit 11 as well. and,
The selection circuit 11 receives the input signal from the reception signal input terminal 4 that has passed through the line interface 5 and the transmission signal input terminal 1 that has passed through the transmission circuit 6, and receives the control signal output from the reception signal detection circuit 10. When the received signal input terminal 4 does not indicate that a received signal is present, the output of the transmitting circuit 6 is selected, and when the control signal indicates that a received signal is present, the line interface 5 is selected.
The received signal input terminal 4 that has passed through is selected and outputted to the receiving circuit T. The receiving circuit 7 subjects the signal output from the selection circuit 11 to processing necessary for reception, such as decoding, and outputs it to the comparison circuit 13 and output control circuit 15.

Since the conventional fault detection device is configured as described above, it is impossible to detect faults in the transmitting circuit 6 and the receiving circuit T while transmitting and receiving signals, and the received signal is not input to the received signal input terminal 4. Since fault detection for the transmitting circuit 6 and receiving circuit T is performed only during non-existent time periods, if the received signal is constantly input to the received signal input terminal 4, no fault detection is performed at all. There was a problem.

Next, the operation will be explained. A transmission signal input to the transmission signal input terminal 1 of a communication device (not shown) is converted to a higher speed signal by a first speed conversion circuit 20. That is, the transfer rate of the transmission signal input to the transmission signal input terminal 1 is, for example, 1.54 of 9193 bits per frame (125 μS) as shown in FIG. 2(a).
The transfer rate is 4 Mbps, and this is converted by the first rate conversion circuit 20 to a transfer rate of 2.048 Mbps with 3 bits per frame as shown in FIG. 6). This speed conversion generates three empty bits per frame. The first multiplex circuit 21 inserts the PN pattern of the supervisory signal generated by the supervisory signal generating circuit 22 into the 63-Q vacant bit position.

On the other hand, the monitoring signal separated by the second separation circuit 28 is sent to a check circuit 30 to check the PN pattern. That is, the check circuit 30 compares the PN button of the monitoring signal input to the second separation circuit 28 with the PN button of the monitoring signal generated by the monitoring signal generation circuit 22, and if the two are equal, it is determined that there is a failure. If there is no failure, it is determined that there is a failure, and the failure detection result is outputted to the detection result output terminal 14.

As described above, according to the present invention, a monitoring signal is multiplexed on a transmission signal whose speed has been converted to a high speed, and is input to the transmission circuit where fault detection is performed, and the monitoring signal is separated from the signal output from the transmission circuit. multiplexing the looped back monitoring signal with a received signal whose speed has been converted to a high speed, inputting the looped back monitoring signal to a receiving circuit where fault detection is performed, and separating the monitoring signal from the signal output from the receiving circuit; This is compared with the monitoring signal multiplexed with the transmitting signal to detect a failure in the transmitting circuit and receiving circuit, so even if a received signal is present at the received signal input terminal, the transmitting circuit and receiving circuit The present invention has the effect of providing a fault detection device that can constantly detect faults in the transmitting circuit and receiving circuit while performing normal transmission and reception of transmitting and receiving signals.
