Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] この発明は、熱可塑性プラスチック管用のマイクロ波加
熱式融着継手に関するものである。
[従来の技術] 従来の技術の一例として特開昭64−74381号公報
に以下に述べる提案がある。第2[]は、]開開昭64
−74381公報の提案の実施例の断面図である。第2
図(1)は、接合完了前の状態を示す、第2図(2〉は
、接合完了後の状態を示す、管45.46は合成樹脂製
であり、その端部45a、46aは継手本体47の端部
47a。
47b内に部分的に嵌合する。管45.46および継手
本体47は、ポリオレフィン系熱可塑性合成樹脂製であ
る。管45.46の端部45a。
46a接触面である外周面と、継手本体47の端部47
a、47bの接触面である内周面との間には、炭素繊維
等の層48が層状に介在する。この炭素繊維等の層48
は、継手本体47の軸方向全長に亘って、周方向全面に
亘って介在する。この炭素繊維等の層48は、継手本体
47の内周面に取り付けられている。#1手本体47は

炭素繊維等の層48の端部には接合作業時に端子部材4
9.40接触されて、電気的に接続される。
炭素繊維等の層48が電力付勢されてジュール熱が発生
する事によって、継手本体47の端部47a、47bの
内周面と管45.46の端部45a、46aの少なくと
も外周面とが加熱されて軟化、溶融し、炭素繊維等の層
48内にこれらの合成樹脂が入りこんでゆく、これによ
って第4図(2)で示されるように、管45.46を継
手本体47を介して強固に接続する事ができる。
しかし、炭素繊維等の層48が電力付勢されてジュール
熱が均一に発生する様に炭素繊維等を、均一に分配する
事が困難であり、更に端子部材49.40に接触する圧
力を均一にする事は困難である。また炭素繊維等の層4
8は電気抵抗が高過ぎるので、炭素繊維を大量に加える
必要があり、その結果継手の強度が低下する。
従来の技術の他の一例として、特公昭61−41293
号公報に以下に述べる提案がある。第3図は、特公昭6
1−41293号公報の提案の実施例の断面図である0
図において51は溶接スリーブである。この溶接スリー
ブ51は熱可塑性合成樹脂製パイプ52.52’の接続
に供し、管状本体53と螺旋コイル54とで構成する。
コイル54は抵抗線55を具え、これを螺旋状に捲き付
けるとともに熱可塑性材料のケーシング56内に設ける
。抵抗線55の両端57を取り出し電源に接続可能とな
っている。コイル54は管状本体53より短く、管状本
体53の両端58をそれぞれコイル54から等しい長さ
ずつ突出させる。該両端58を円錐状として、端縁に向
けて直径が漸減するよう先細りとなっている。
しかし、抵抗線55近傍の個所に応力集中が起こり、液
体接触面に最も近い発熱電線と液体接触面との間の僅か
の融着部に割れが生じると液体が発熱電線を伝わり漏れ
出るという障害が発生する。
[発明が解決しようとする課題] 第一に加熱用発熱を線を設けることにより次の障害が発
生する。即ち、 (1)発熱電線が管軸に垂直に配置されているので、配
管に力が掛かった際に、発p!!、電線の近傍の個所に
応力集中が起こる。液体接触面に最も近い発熱TL線と
液体接触面との間の僅かの融着部に割れが生じた際には
液体が発熱電線を伝わり漏れ出るという障害が発生する
(2) m手の形状が複雑で例えばサドル状等の際は発
熱電線の捲き付けが容易でない。
(3)発28電線の近傍が高温になり樹脂の劣化を招く
第二に継手の部材全体に導電性の炭素繊維等を混練する
場合には次の困難がある。炭素繊維等は通電性が金属に
くらべて低いので、大量の炭素繊維を加える必要があり
、その結果、継手の強度等が低下する。更に大量の炭素
繊維を均一に混練することは困難である。
[課題を解決するための手段] この発明に係る、熱可塑性のプラスチック管のマイクロ
波加熱式融着継手は、接続される熱可塑性のプラスチッ
ク管の外面に接して設けられ、誘電損失係数が0.1以
上でマイクロ波を照射されて発熱する性質を有して、且
つ融点が180℃以上である樹脂を30%以上60%以
下を含有した、被接続管体と同材質高分子との混練物か
ら成る円環状のコアと、その外周に密接して嵌着する熱
可塑性のプラスチック製の管状体とを具備してなること
を特徴とする。
[作用] この発明は上記の様に構成されているので、接続後の継
手部の材質劣化がないので信頼性が高い、更に従来の技
術による継手と較べてこの考案の継手は能率良く製造で
きるので製造原価を低減することが可能である。
[実施例] 以下にこの発明を図によって説明する。第1図〈1〉は
この発明の一実施例の断面図である。第1図(2〉はこ
の発明の一実施例の斜視図である0図において、1は誘
電損失係数の高い樹脂を30%以上60%以下を含有し
た、被接続管体と同材質高分子との混練物から成る射出
成形により予め成形した円環状のコアである。誘電損失
係数の高い樹脂が、30%未満では誘電現象による発熱
が不十分であり、60%を超えると融着後の強度が弱く
なる。且つこの円環状のコアは、融点が180℃以上で
ある樹脂を用いる。これにより樹脂の混練及びコア1の
成形を容易にする。又、コア1は誘電損失係数が0.1
以上の性質を有している樹脂、例えば誘電損失係数が0
.1であるナイロン6、及び誘電損失係数が0.2であ
るフェノール樹脂を用いた。2は管の継手の外筒であり
プラスチックの管状体から成っている。4は熱可塑性の
プラスチック管である。継手の外筒2は4と同じ熱可塑
性のプラスチックで出来ている。3は導波管でありマイ
クロ波の線源〈図示せず)から加熱接合室5ヘマイクロ
波を伝える金属製の筒で出来ている。金属製の筒は誘電
損失係数が低く且つマイクロ波を遮蔽する性質がある。
熱可塑性のプラスチック管4による配管の直径が50關
φである場合にマイクロ波の線源の電源容量は600W
であり、周波数は2450 MH2のものを用いた。加
熱接合室5内でマイクロ波をコア1に照射するとコア1
中の誘電損失係数の大きな樹脂が発熟し高温になり、そ
の近傍の樹脂に伝熱し溶融すると共に、コア1に接する
熱可塑性のプラスチック管4が軟化溶融し始め熱可塑性

[発明の効果] この発明の熱可塑性プラスチック管の継手によると、熱
可塑性のプラスチック管の接続の信頼性が高くなり、且
つ継手の形状が複雑である際においても、成形が容易で
ある。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)プラスチック管の融着継手において、接続される
    熱可塑性プラスチック管の外面に接して設けられ、マイ
    クロ波を照射すると発熱する性質を有する無機物、有機
    物等を含有し、被接続管体と同材質高分子との混合物か
    ら成る円環状のコアと、その外周に密接して嵌着する熱
    可塑性プラスチック製の管状体とを具備してなることを
    特長とする熱可塑性プラスチック管のマイクロ波加熱式
    融着継手。
  2. (2)プラスチック管の融着継手において、接続される
    熱可塑性プラスチック管の外面に接して設けられ、誘電
    損失係数が0.1以上でマイクロ波を照射されて発熱す
    る性質を有し、且つ融点が180℃以上である樹脂を3
    0%以上60%以下を含有した、被接続管体と同材質高
    分子との混練物から成る円環状のコアと、その外周に密
    接して嵌着する熱可塑性プラスチック製の管状体とを具
    備してなることを特徴とする熱可塑性プラスチック管の
    マイクロ波加熱式融着継手。
