Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain the transfer of data to a host computer with no use of an intelligent MODEM by providing a MODEM function and a dial function to a cash register. CONSTITUTION:A connector 5 of a cash register containing a data transmission/ reception function is put into the connector of a telephone circuit. Then a transmission key 1 is pushed. Thus a dial part 2 works and an on-line state is secured between the cash register and a host computer. Then a MODEM part 3 works to modulate the data stored in a communication control part 4. This modulated data is sent to the host computer. Meanwhile the reception data of the host computer is demodulated by the part 3 and stored in the part 4. Thus the transfer of data is attained to the host computer without using an intelligent MODEM.
