……二色性染料、４……下偏光板、５……上偏光
板。

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 液晶分子を１８０゜〜２７０゜のツイスト角で
    ツイスト配列させたＳＴＮ型液晶表示素子におい
    て、液晶の屈折率異方性Δｎと液晶層の層厚ｄと
    の積Δｎ・ｄの値を０．８０以下にし、かつ液晶
    中に、４５０ｎｍ〜５００ｎｍの範囲に吸収極大
    波長をもつ二色性染料を添加したことを特徴とす
    るＳＴＮ型液晶表示素子。
