[Prior art] A method for molding a denture base using a thermoplastic resin using a compression molding method is well known, and the shape of the material used for molding is also disclosed in U.S. Pat.
No. 88911 shows a shape similar to a dental arch.

However, the shape described in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 59-100409 is a U-shaped one made of thermoplastic resin material that approximates the dental arch, or a plate-like shape that has a thick part on the periphery that resembles the dental arch. In the compression molding method of thermoplastic resin, the thermoplastic resin is placed on the alveolar ridge (having a convex shape) of the plaster model for molding and is heated and softened. Since it easily comes off, a high degree of skill is required in the subsequent process.

In addition, in Utility Model Application No. 60-88911, in order to prevent the above shape deformation, the material shape of the thermoplastic resin was changed to U.
An improvement is being made by making the cross section of the character part chevron-shaped.

[Problems that the invention attempts to solve] However, Utility Model Application No. 88911 (1988) and Utility Model Application No. 59 (1989)
In the method of No. 100409, the shape of the thermoplastic resin material is integrally molded into a U-shape approximating a dental arch, or a plate-like shape with a thick part approximating a dental arch at the periphery, so it is possible to In order to accommodate each person's dental arches, which have a variety of shapes, not only many molds are required to manufacture the denture base molding material, but also a large number of molds are required before manufacturing the denture base. It is necessary to prepare a shaped thermoplastic resin, which imposes an extremely large economic burden.

On the other hand, if the types of denture base molding materials are reduced in order to reduce the economic burden, it will not be possible to accommodate the multiple shapes of the dental arch, and the shape will need to be shaped to prevent the thermoplastic resin from deforming when softened. Even if a chevron-shaped material is used, deformation cannot be prevented, and a complicated and sophisticated technique is required to adjust the shape of the softened resin before compression molding.

In addition, in order to accommodate many dental arch shapes with a small number of shapes, a large amount of thermoplastic resin is used to make a large denture base molding material, expanding the range of applicable dental arch shapes. This will lead to destruction of the plaster mold.

[Means for Solving the Problems] As a result of repeated studies on the shape of denture base molding materials in order to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks and mold good denture bases, the present inventor has developed a denture base molding material. By dividing and combining multiple thermoplastic resin molded products, we discovered that it is possible to accommodate dental arches of various shapes with a small amount of material, leading to the present invention.

The feature of this invention is that the dental arch is divided into several parts (components), for example, divided into three parts, the dental arch of the anterior tooth area and the dental arch of the molar area, and the shape is approximated to those dental arches. It consists of a combination of three divided thermoplastic resin molded products having the following characteristics. The number of divisions is not particularly limited and may be two or more, but three is preferred.

Next, the thermoplastic resin used must be one that does not undergo thermal deterioration due to the molding method, has an appropriate viscosity, has good formability, and can be colored to resemble the color of the gums. The resin is required to have appropriate rigidity and moisture resistance, as well as toughness that does not cause stress cracks during use. Therefore, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, polymethyl pentene-1, transparent nylon, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate,
Polyarylate, polyester carbonate, transparent ABS resin, polysulfone resin, etc. are used, and polysulfone, polyether sulfone, etc. are particularly preferred because they are excellent in moisture resistance, rigidity, durable stress cracking properties, etc.

Note that the material shape of the present invention is not limited to the shape shown in the illustrative figures, but can be formed by substantially combining a plurality of shapes.
There are no limitations on the shape of the joint, its presence or absence, etc., as long as it can create an appropriate shape of the denture base molding material that approximates the dental arch.

[Effects of the invention] As explained above, the denture base molding material of the invention is a combination of multiple thermoplastic resin molded products with a chevron-shaped cross section, and the combined shape is a U-shape that approximates a dental arch. Because it is a shaped material, it can be easily placed on a plaster model regardless of the size or width of the dental arch, and will not lose its shape when the thermoplastic resin softens. Also, regarding changes in the amount of resin due to the size of the dental arch and the degree of resorption of the alveolar ridge,
By changing the size and thickness of multiple resin molded products and combining them appropriately, it is possible to easily optimize the denture base material. Therefore, it is possible to make teeth of various shapes with less material shape (less mold). It has the advantage of being compatible with row bows. Furthermore, when a thermoplastic resin denture base is molded using the material of the present invention, a good denture base can be molded without the need for any complicated operations after the resin has been softened, and without resin shortage or cracking of the plaster mold. can.
