It is known to produce denture bases made of thermoplastic resin by compression molding. Regarding the shape of the material used for molding, Utility Model Application Publications No. 59-100409 and Utility Model Application Publication No. 60-88911 disclose a shape that approximates a dental arch.

However, when using the material disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 59-100409, which has a U-shape similar to a dental arch and has a plate-like cross section, the compression molding method for thermoplastic resin
Since the thermoplastic resin is placed and heated to soften, the softened thermoplastic resin loses its shape and easily comes off from the predetermined position of the plaster mold, so a high degree of skill is required in the subsequent process. In addition, in Utility Model Application No. 60-88911, in order to prevent the above-mentioned deformation, the material shape of the thermoplastic resin was changed to U.
Improvements are being made by changing the letter-shaped cross section to a chevron shape. However, Utility Model Application No. 60-88911 and Utility Model Application No. 59-100409
In the method of No. 1, the shape of the thermoplastic resin material is integrally molded into a U-shape that approximates a dental arch, or a plate-like shape with a thick wall portion that approximates a dental arch on the periphery, so it can be made into a shape that is large or small or wide or narrow. In order to accommodate each person's dental arches, which have a variety of shapes, it is not only necessary to produce a large number of molds for the production of denture base molding materials, but also to It is necessary to prepare a shaped thermoplastic resin, which imposes an extremely large economic burden.

On the other hand, in order to reduce the economic burden, if the types of denture base molding materials are reduced, it will not be possible to accommodate the various shapes of dental arches, and it will be necessary to prevent the thermoplastic resin from losing its shape when softened. Even if a material with a chevron-shaped shape is used, it is not possible to prevent the material from losing its shape, and a complicated and sophisticated technique is required to adjust the shape of the softened resin before compression molding.

In addition, in order to accommodate many dental arch shapes with a small number of shapes, a large amount of thermoplastic resin is used to make a large denture base molding material, which expands the range of applicable dental arch shapes. This will lead to the destruction of the plaster mold.

The feature of the present invention is that the denture base molding material with multiple fractured parts is broken and divided into several parts (components). The point is that the arch is divided into three parts, and the divided thermoplastic resin molded parts are combined into a shape that corresponds to each person's dental arch. The number of divisions is not particularly limited and may be two or more, but three is preferred.

Next, the thermoplastic resin used is one that does not deteriorate due to heat during molding, has an appropriate viscosity, has good moldability, and can be colored to resemble the color of the gums. The resin is required to have appropriate rigidity and moisture resistance, as well as toughness that does not cause stress cracks during use. Therefore, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, polymethyl pentene-1, transparent polyamide, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, polyarylate, polyester carbonate, transparent ABS
Resins, polysulfone resins, etc. are used, and polysulfone, polyethersulfone, etc. are particularly preferred because they are excellent in moisture resistance, rigidity, stress cracking resistance, etc.

In addition, the shape of the material of the present invention is not limited to the shape shown in the illustrative figure, but can also be used to create a suitable shape for a denture base molding material that approximates a dental arch by combining multiple pieces of material obtained by fracture. That's fine.

As explained above, in the denture base molding material of the present invention, a thermoplastic resin molded product having a chevron cross-sectional shape is provided with a plurality of fractured parts, and a plurality of partial materials obtained by fracture are appropriately divided. When used in combination, it is possible to obtain a U-shaped material that approximates any dental arch. Therefore, regardless of the size or width of the dental arch, it can be easily placed on a plaster model, and its shape will not deteriorate when the thermoplastic resin softens. In addition, even if the amount of resin changes depending on the size of the dental arch and the degree of resorption of the alveolar ridge, it is easy to change the denture base material by changing the shape of the multiple resin molded products obtained by fracture and combining them as appropriate. It has the advantage that it can be adapted to various shapes of dental arches with fewer material shapes (fewer molds). Furthermore, when a thermoplastic resin denture base is molded using the material of the present invention, a good denture base can be molded without the need for any complicated operations after the resin has been softened, and without causing insufficient resin or cracking of the plaster mold. .
