Characters have been inserted by inserting , or by inserting a space code for one line. Therefore, the operations required include changing to insert mode and inputting characters or line feed codes.

When you need to delete a line of text that you have inputted, you can delete the character string in that line one by one by the number of characters you want to delete, or delete the carriage return code. This realizes deletion of character strings.

Processing etc. exist. However, these editing functions are not necessarily systematically separated into character-by-character editing processing and line-by-line editing processing, and therefore lack uniformity. For example, when inserting a line, you can do this by inserting a line feed code, and when deleting a line, you can do so by deleting the line feed code or deleting one line's worth of characters. .

In none of these devices, character-by-character editing processing and line-by-line editing processing are systematically categorized. Naturally, therefore, the instruction means for realizing these various functions were not systematically classified, which could lead to misunderstandings for the operator.

CM is located in the second column of the top row, and allows input of characters, etc. from the keyboard. Characters and the like entered from the keyboard are entered at the position where the cursor CM is displayed on the display device. The cursor CM advances one by one according to the input of characters, etc. from the keyboard. Cursor CM can be advanced one by one using the cursor keys. The inputted character string can be output to the printer by pressing the print key. The input/output control described above can be easily realized using known techniques.

Cursor CM to left margin mark LMM on second line
(Figure 5a). If you enter the number 5, 5 will be displayed in the left margin mark LMM, as shown in Figure 5b. Furthermore, in order to return the line pitch from the 4th line onward to the standard line pitch corresponding to the printer's standard feed number, which will be described later, move the cursor CM to the left margin mark LMM of the 4th line and input the letter S. Now, only the second to fourth lines will have a line pitch of 5 mm, and the line pitches of the other lines will take the value of the standard line pitch.

Special patterns such as ̄〓〓 have already been input in the 1st to 4th lines of Figure 6a, but when printing these, it is of course necessary to adjust the character pitch in order to connect all the symbols. But I won't touch on it here. To print the upper and lower lines concatenated, first press the left margin mark on the first line.
Move the cursor CM to the LMM (Figure 6a).
If you then input the letter L (L indicates to print without any gaps), the letter L will be displayed in the left margin mark LMM above the cursor CM, as shown in Figure 6b. With this, the character pattern will be printed in a connected manner from the first line to the last line without any vertical gaps. However, if you want to return to the standard line pitch from the 4th line onwards, use the left margin mark LMM for the 4th line.
Move the cursor to CM and enter the letter S.
Then, as shown in Figure 6c, the left margin mark of the 4th line
S is displayed in the LMM, and the fourth and subsequent lines have the standard line pitch.

When you operate HPK, the text is displayed on the screen from the beginning. That is, if the cursor CM is placed at the top of the screen in advance, it is possible to display the text from the beginning just by operating the screen top key HPK once.

Expressed as (N). DR is a display register that instructs from which position in the data buffer DBuF to display on the CRT.As an example, when displaying the following 40 words from the 20th data, that is, DBuF (20), the DR It would be a good idea to set the value to 20. The CRT controller CRTC displays the contents of 40 consecutive words on the CRT from the contents of the data buffer DBuF corresponding to the values stored here.

indicates the address within the data buffer of the character to be displayed on the display device CRT at that time. The output signal C of the data buffer DBuF, which is output as a result of accessing the output signal B as an address, becomes the code signal of the character to be displayed on the display device CRT at that time. The character generator CG receives the code signal C and the low number F from the controller CONT as input signals, and outputs a character pattern signal E (parallel information) of the corresponding low number of the corresponding character. The character pattern information E is converted into a serial signal G via the shift register SR and output to the display device CRT, so that the corresponding character is displayed.
