基づいてケーブルの長さを検出し、長さに応じた周波数
補償をビデオ信号に施すようにすることにより、ケーブ
ル長に応じたビデオ信号の周波数補償が自動的にできる
。したがって、操作者が操作を忘れたり、誤った操作を
行い、実際に使用しているケーブルの長さに適合しない
周波数補償が行われることを防止することができる。
また、従来のビデオカメラシステムにおけるケーブル補
償器を選択するための切換スイッチを設ける必要もなく

ケーブルで接続されたビデオカメラシステムにおいて、
基準信号が上記ケーブルを往復する時間に基づいて該ケ
ーブルの長さを検出するケーブル長検出手段と、上記カ
メラヘッド部からの映像信号の周波数特性を上記ケーブ
ル長検出手段で検出されたケーブル長に応じて補償する
ケーブル補償手段とを有することを特徴とするビデオカ
