No consideration was given to the fact that this would reduce the amount of air passing through the heat exchanger, that is, the amount of heat exchanged.
There was a problem of reduced capacity. An object of the present invention is to provide a mechanism that prevents the capacity from decreasing during cycle operation without impairing the original effect as a drain port.

Specific examples of valve structures include: ■ A valve that is fixed to the bottom base with a rotary joint and opens and closes depending on the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the outdoor unit cabinet; ■ A valve made of temperature-sensitive metal (bimetal, etc.) that changes its shape at a preset temperature. There are two types of valves that open and close depending on the temperature.

Furthermore, if water accumulates in the drain port during heating operation, etc., the weight of the water opens the valve and discharges it to the outside of the machine, so there is no way to prevent water from being drained.

, a heat exchanger 5, and a front cover 6, and a blower is installed inside the cabinet, which sucks air from the back of the heat exchanger and blows it out from the outlet on the front cover to ensure the amount of air passing through the heat exchanger. do. The bottom base 1 is provided with a drain outlet, through which drain water is discharged to the outside of the cabinet machine. In the present invention, an on-off valve 2 is provided at the drain port portion, and is closed during cooling operation to prevent air from flowing in through the drain port, thereby suppressing a decrease in air passing through the heat exchanger. Further, during heating operation or when drainage such as rainwater is generated, the valve is opened by the weight of the drainage water, and drainage is carried out as appropriate.

It has a structure that can be freely opened and closed by a rotary joint 11. The operation will be explained below. When the blower is operating, the pressure inside the outdoor unit cabinet is lower than the pressure outside the cabinet. This differential pressure causes the valve to be attracted to the bottom base, and the drain port is blocked. Therefore, it is possible to prevent air from flowing in through the drain port, thereby suppressing a decrease in the amount of air passing through the heat exchanger. This can prevent a decrease in performance during cycle operation. When the blower is stopped, there is no pressure difference between the inside and outside of the cabinet, and the valve remains open, functioning as a normal drain port. If drain water from the outdoor heat exchanger collects at the drain port during heating operation, or if rainwater collects at the bottom base, the weight of the drain water will push the valve open and the drain water will flow out of the machine. It is discharged outside. Therefore, drain water is not stored in the bottom base, and rust prevention effects can also be obtained.

The on-off valve 2 is made of a temperature-sensitive metal that has the characteristic of closing in a temperature range above a preset temperature and opening in a temperature range below that temperature. In this example, the temperature is set so that the air conditioner is closed during cooling operation.

During cooling operation, the drain port is initially closed by a valve to prevent inflow from the drain port, and as described above with reference to FIG. 4, the effect of preventing a decrease in cooling operation performance is obtained. During heating operation, the outdoor air temperature becomes lower than the initial setting value, so the drain port is closed due to the deformation of the valve and functions as a normal drain port.
