This type of detection element is normally used in a suspended state in the liquid to be detected, and these parts are connected via two electrode pieces of different heights that protrude downward from the body of the element. Whether there is electrical continuity between (ON−
OFF), it functions to open and close a control circuit including the element.

ON信号が発生する。 However, in such known elements, droplets of the liquid to be detected tend to adhere to the lower end of the member 1 due to the wetting characteristics (or capillarity) between the solid and the liquid, often resulting in detection errors. To explain more specifically, although it depends on the diameter D of the member 1 or the distance d between the electrode wires 2a and 2b, the smaller these values, the more liquid will cover the entire bottom part 3 of the member. The grains g1 and the grains g2 crosslinked to the electrode wires 2a and 2b remain. For this reason, in the control circuit including the detection element, even though the electrode lines 2a and 2b must be in an OFF state when they fall below the level L2 ,
ON signal is generated.

This can lead to various problems.

In view of the above, this idea was developed to prevent the generation of ON signals as detection errors due to adhesion (remaining) of liquid, etc. to be detected on the body of the detection element. In the configuration of a detection element in which a pair of electrode pieces are buried at intervals and the lower ends of each electrode piece are exposed above the lower end of the body, there is a structure at the lower end of the body that forms an acute angle with respect to the axis. forming a single slope on the top;
The present invention is characterized in that the lower end portions of at least one set of the electrode pieces protrude by a required amount from a midway point on the slope at different heights along the axis.

In this way, water droplets or liquid droplets that tend to adhere to the lower end of the body fall smoothly along the slope, and do not remain around the protruding ends of the electrode pieces 12a, 12b.

2b can be connected across the power supply, the water level can be detected in a relatively short period by turning on and off one of the electrode pieces in stages according to the water level. , that is, several levels determined by the relative relationship with the upper and lower electrode pieces 12a and 12b; when there are two electrode pieces, there are three levels h 1 , h 2 , and h 3 in the figure. Can be detected.

Therefore, when using the level detection element of this invention, unlike the conventional detection element, even if the water level or liquid level to be detected is below the lower end (detection end) of the electrode piece, , eliminates the situation where a false ON signal is issued due to water droplets remaining on the lower end of the body, and ensures reliable operation and safety of control circuits of main body equipment such as water softeners and boilers that are equipped with the same type of level detection element. control can be ensured. Moreover, the shape of the body of the element improves so-called drainage,
It is possible to reduce corrosion of the electrode pieces and extend their lifespan, and is effective for measuring the water level in a narrow flow path, such as at a detection location where the spacing between the electrode pieces (d) described above must be set small. This can bring about great practical effects, such as making it possible to make it smaller and more convenient.
