(Industrial Application Field) This invention relates to a coating composition for vinyl cloth,
More specifically, even when coated as a surface coating on synthetic resin floor sheets, synthetic resin ceiling sheets, and synthetic resin wallpaper materials, the plasticizer from these so-called vinyl cloth materials transfers to the surface coating. To provide a coating composition for vinyl cloth that does not cause tackiness on the surface coating. (Prior art and its problems) Conventionally, vinyl chloride products, which have generally been the mainstay of so-called vinyl cloth, have been used to create designs, three-dimensionality, softness, etc. in order to respond to diversification.
Flexibility is required, and as a result, a large number of plasticizers are added. DOP (dioctyl phthalate) and DOA (dioctyl adipate) are usually used as plasticizers for so-called vinyl cloth, or vinyl chloride products, and the blending amount is 50 to 90 parts per 100 parts by weight of resin. It is common that However, although these plasticizers do not cause any problems in their original purpose of softening the hard vinyl cloth, they can be used to coat the surface of the so-called vinyl cloth with a coating agent, especially a glossy emulsion paint. When applied, the plasticizer in the vinyl cloth migrates into the paint film, which has the disadvantage of softening the paint film and making it sticky. In particular, most of the resin compositions of glossy emulsion paints currently used for general purposes are acrylic resins or acrylic-styrene copolymer emulsion resins, and these acrylic resins are not compatible with plasticizers such as DOP and DOA. However, it had the disadvantage of significant plasticizer migration. In addition, matte emulsion paints generally have a small amount of acrylic resin and the extender pigments they contain serve to suppress the stickiness of the paint film. Almost no tackiness occurs. However, when a matte emulsion paint is applied to the outer layer of vinyl cloth, it is easy to get dirty because it has no luster, and the matte paint with a higher PVC content has more problems with adhesion, making it unsuitable as a paint for vinyl cloth. It was hot. Furthermore, JP-A No. 56-99666 discloses a technology regarding a coating material for vinyl chloride resin in which the coating material is an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic resin containing 1 to 40 parts by weight of a plasticizer. . However, this technique applies a coating and
The preferred temperature is 100°C or higher to form a hard coating film, which is used especially as a protective film for agricultural films, etc., and it is not a technology that can be used in paints that anyone can easily use. Furthermore, the technology related to this coating material is such that the acrylic resin alone cannot prevent the transfer of plasticizer from the vinyl chloride resin, and the transfer of the plasticizer can only be prevented through the interaction between the acrylic resin and the plasticizer. This is a special technique. Therefore, like the above-mentioned glossy emulsion paint, this technology is not a technology that can prevent the migration of plasticizer in the acrylic resin. Furthermore, by a method other than the coating described above,
As a means for preventing migration of plasticizers and the like from vinyl chloride, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 56-31031 discloses a technique relating to a flexible sheet in which an acrylic resin film is adhered to vinyl chloride. However, this technology also prevents the transfer of plasticizer by forming a two-layer structure in which an acrylic resin film is attached to vinyl chloride. It was necessary to create a soft sheet with Therefore, this technique is not a technique that can be used for paints that anyone can easily apply with a brush or the like, and can draw arbitrary patterns using various colors. (Means for Solving the Invention) This invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks. Namely, this invention is directed to the use of acrylonitrile containing 30 to 50% mole of acrylonitrile groups in the main chain and having a glassy transition temperature. The above-mentioned problems can be solved by providing a coating composition for vinyl cloth which contains as an essential component a composition obtained by emulsion polymerization of an acrylic resin or an acrylic styrene copolymer resin whose temperature is in the range of 30 to 70°C and does not contain a plasticizer. It is something to be solved. (Structure of the invention) In this invention, 30 acrylonitrile groups are added in the main chain.
Acrylic resin or acrylic styrene copolymer resin containing 50 to 50 mol% and having a glass transition temperature in the range of 30 to 70°C has the general formula (However, R 1 represents hydrogen or a methyl group, R 2 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms) and is a synthetic resin polymerized from conventionally known monomers such as acrylic esters or methacrylic esters. This refers to a synthetic resin in which the main chain of the synthetic resin contains 30 to 50% acrylonitrile groups, and the selected combination of R 1 and R 2 groups can increase the glass transition temperature of the synthetic resin to 30 to 70°C. All settings can be used preferably. The reason why the above resin is used as the synthetic resin that can be used in this invention is that since it contains an acrylonitrile group in the main chain, the coating film forms a network structure due to the intermolecular cohesive force of this acrylonitrile group. This is because increasing the temperature slows down the thermal motion of the molecules of the synthetic resin, and both effects make the coating film more dense, making it difficult for the plasticizer in the vinyl cloth to transfer to the coating film. In this invention, the reason why the content of acrylonitrile groups in the main chain is set to 30 mol% or more and 50 mol% or less is that if the acrylonitrile group content is 30 mol% or less, the coating film becomes less dense and becomes less plastic. The effect of suppressing agent migration is lost, and conversely, if it exceeds 50 mol %, there are too many hydrophilic acrylonitrile groups and it is not suitable for emulsion polymerization, so either case is not preferable. In this invention, the reason why the glass transition temperature of the resin is set to 30°C or more and 70°C or less is that when the glass transition temperature becomes 30°C or less, the denseness of the coating film is weakened and the plasticizer migration suppressing effect is lost. If the temperature exceeds 70°C, problems such as hardening of the coating film and cracks in its physical properties as a protective film occur, which is undesirable in either case. The coating composition for vinyl cloth according to this invention is
Contains no plasticizers. In this invention, plasticizers include dimethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, dicyclohexyl phthalate, dibenzyl phthalate, butylbenzyl phthalate, butyl lauryl phthalate, dicabryl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl adibate, dioctyl sebacate, and tricresyl phthalate. These include sulfophosphate, other polyglycol esters, and sebacic acid esters. The reason why this plasticizer is not included is that if a plasticizer is blended, the plasticizer will remain in the coating film even after the coating film is formed, and not only will it not inhibit the migration of the plasticizer from the vinyl cloth, but it will also prevent the plasticizer from forming in the vinyl cloth. This is because it promotes the migration of the agent. The coating composition according to the present invention includes colored pigments,
The paint may be colored by adding an extender pigment or the like together with an emulsifier. Furthermore, if this coating composition is dried at room temperature, the coating film may crack, so in such cases, Texanol (trade name: Texanol (2), manufactured by Eastman Kodak Co., Ltd. ,4,-
trimethyl-1,3,-pentanediol monoisobutyrol), benzyl alcohol, methyl cellosolve, ethyl cellosolve, butyl cellosolve, ethyl carbitol, butyl carbitol,
Hexylene glycol or the like may be added. The film-forming aid that assists in film formation scatters during drying and does not remain in the formed coating film, and the composition and physical properties of the coating film obtained without the film-forming aid are different. It's exactly the same. In this invention, there are cases in which no film-forming aid is required at all. Such cases include cases where a coating film is formed in a short time in order to increase productivity in a factory, and in such cases, the vinyl cloth sheet according to the present invention is applied at the same time as the PVC sheet is formed. In order to form a coating film of the coating composition, the coating film is usually heated and dried at 100°C or higher, so no film-forming aid is required. The paint according to the present invention having the above-mentioned structure may be applied by a conventional method using a known coating device, ie, a brush, a roller, a spray, or the like. The effects of this invention will be made clearer by describing Examples and Comparative Examples below. Example 1 Methyl methacrylate 43 parts (weight) 2-ethylhexyl acrylate 21 parts Styrene 13 parts Acrylonitrile 23 parts An acrylic styrene copolymer resin having the above monomer composition was emulsion polymerized, and the non-volatile content was 46% and the glass transition temperature was A composition was obtained at 37°C and containing 39.2 mol% of acrylonitrile groups. The clear resin of Example 1 used in Test Example 1 (5% Texanol) and the clear resin of Example 2 (Texanol/benzyl alcohol = 1/
A coating film was formed on aluminum foil in the same manner as in Test Example 1, except that 10% of 1) was applied to aluminum foil instead of the soft PVC sheet. This coating film was heated at 250° C. for 5 seconds, and the gas generated thereby was analyzed by gas chromatography. The measurement conditions for gas chromatography are shown below. Injection temperature: 220℃ Column temperature 70℃ Carrier gas Nitrogen gas (50ml/min) Chart speed 10mm/min Column Thermo3000 (3m) Under these measurement conditions, the retention time for Texanol is 16.7 minutes, and the retention time for benzyl alcohol is 17.0 minutes.
It's a minute. As a result of this analysis, it was found that the coating films using the clear resin of Example 1 (5% Texanol) and the clear resin of Example 2 (10% Texanol/benzyl alcohol = 1/1) had no formation. No membrane auxiliary agent was detected. Therefore, it was found that Texanol and benzyl alcohol were scattered and were not present in the coating film. (Effects of the Invention) As can be seen from the results of the above test examples, the vinyl cloth coating composition according to the present invention transfers the plasticizer from the vinyl cloth material to the surface coating film, and the surface coating film has no tackiness. This is a coating composition for vinyl cloth that does not cause any stains.
