This invention relates to a harmful gastropod repellent comprising 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one and/or its metal complex compound as shown in the following. Harmful molluscs, especially gastropods such as slugs, snails, and snails, infest fields, greenhouses, gardens, kitchens, houses, walls, fruit and vegetable storage areas, etc., and cause damage to the stems, leaves, fruits, rhizomes, and paper of various plants.
They lick wood and other processed plant products, causing great damage. They also invade humid areas such as kitchens and damage food. Metaldehyde preparations have conventionally been used as attractants for these, but they have the drawback of not being sufficiently effective. The present inventors conducted a test to exterminate harmful gastropods such as slugs, snails, and snails, and as a result, they found that the compound according to the present invention has an extremely high extermination effect. That is, it has been confirmed that the compound represented by the general formula of the present invention kills slugs, snails, snails, etc. within a short period of time after coming into contact with it. The compound according to the general formula of the present invention has been developed to be used as an industrial disinfectant for the purpose of antibacterial and antifungal applications in paints, paper manufacturing, cutting oil, cooling hydrogen, and the like. However, no disclosure has yet been made regarding the exterminating action of the compound of the present invention against gastropods. The 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one compound represented by the above general formula includes 5-chloro-2
-Methylisothiazolin-3-one, 2-methylisothiazolin-3-one, etc., and
Examples of metal salts that form metal complexes with these include zinc chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium nitrate, iron chloride, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, and the like. When the compound of the present invention is actually used, the raw material itself may be sprayed, and it can be used in the form of emulsions, granules, wettable powders, aqueous solutions, liquids, pastes, or foaming agents, etc., as in conventional preparations. It can also be used as
In addition, auxiliary agents such as spreading agents, emulsifiers, wetting agents,
It is of course preferable to use a surfactant such as a fixing agent in order to ensure the effect. Depending on the purpose, it may be mixed with other fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, etc. and treated and applied at the same time. It can also be combined with natural and synthetic attractants such as wheat hides, protein products, casein, dried yeast and essential oils to form attractive pest control agents. Example 1 A spraying test was conducted using slugs in a potted plant nursery. The compound of the present invention was diluted with water to a predetermined concentration, and sprayed onto the slug's body using a small sprayer. The test was repeated for 3 sections with 10 animals per section. The survey counted the number of live and dead animals 24 hours after treatment. The temperature during the test period is 20~
It was 27℃.

agrestis) and the snail snail (Eulota sieboldiana) were used. After spraying a diluted solution of the test compound at a predetermined concentration, the animals were released into a waist-high cage with a mesh lid, 9 cm in diameter, and the animals were examined for survival or death 24 hours after the treatment. For the untreated control, the mice were sprayed with water and then released in a shear cage in the same manner as above.

The survey was conducted 24 hours after spraying, and the number of insects before spraying and the number of insects at the time of the survey were measured, and the eradication rate was calculated from this.
