Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain a constant liquid level, whether a closed type compressor is at rest, in operation or otherwise, and improve the reliability of the compressor by making the compressor continuous to a liquid reservoir section at one side thereof via a communication pipe and another pipe fitted with a nonreturn valve. CONSTITUTION:When a closed type compressor is at rest, a refrigerant is dissolved in refrigerator oil 7 in a closed vessel 1, and a liquid level in the vessel 1 increases accordingly. Actually, however, the increased refrigerator oil 7 is made to flow to a liquid reservoir section 4 via a communication pipe 5 fitted at an allowable liquid level, thereby preventing an increase in liquid level. On the other hand, when the compressor is operating, the refrigerator oil 7 is as well carried to a system, together with delivered gas and, therefore, the liquid level drops. In this case, the liquid is made to flow from the liquid reservoir section 4 to the closed vessel 1 having a lower liquid level. In addition, the liquid level in the liquid reservoir section 4 becomes minimum during the operation of the compressor. Even when the liquid level in the vessel 1 increases, therefore, no liquid reversely flows to the liquid reservoir section 4, due to the nonreturn valve of a pipe 6, thereby maintaining a constant liquid level in the closed type compressor.
