Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply a paste for electrode formation use in such a way that it is continuous with the following: an edge at a sheetlike body which is composed of a ceramic or a synthetic resin; and at least one side face out of two opposite side faces which are continuous with said edge. CONSTITUTION:A paste 2A is filled into recessed parts in a paste holding member (a roller) 3 in which the recessed parts have been formed; after that, the surface of the paste 2A which has been held in the recessed parts is brought into contact with and edge 1a at a sheetlike body 1; the paste 2A is applied to the edge 1a and a side face 1b. Consequently, electrodes whose size and number are as desired can easily and efficiently be formed with good accuracy by means of one transfer treatment. The productivity of the title method can be enhanced, and the yield of the title method can be enhanced by preventing the dislocation of the electrodes.

At the time of screen printing of the end surface 1a shown in FIG. 14, as shown in FIG. 17, the electrode paste 2A
Adheres to the vicinity of the edge portion 12A of the intermediate plate 12, or due to the existence of a gap between the cavity 11 and the electronic component to be inserted into the cavity 11, the electrode paste 2A penetrates into the inside of the cavity 11. May get dirty.

When screen printing of the side faces 1b and 1c shown in FIG.
To prevent the electronic component 1 from adhering to the screen mask. In this case, one side surface 1
When the other side surface 1c is printed after printing b, a gap 14A is formed between the electronic component 1 and the intermediate plate 14 due to the thickness of the electrode 2b on the side surface 1b which is the bottom surface side. For this reason,
Even if vacuuming is performed, air leakage occurs in the gap 14A, so that the electronic component 1 cannot be stably adsorbed to the intermediate plate 14, and the electronic component 1 adheres to the screen mask during screen printing. Sometimes.

Since the side surfaces 1b and 1c connected to the end surface 1a are printed one by one, it is necessary to dry the previously printed portion (2b) and then turn over the electronic component 1, and also the end surface 1
Since a and the side surfaces 1b and 1c connected to this are separately printed, the productivity is poor.

Therefore, the number of processing steps is greatly reduced and the productivity is improved. The electrode formed by the end face and the side face is not displaced, and the yield is high. There is no need to perform vacuum suction, and the problem due to vacuum suction is solved. By adjusting the groove intervals, depths, widths, etc. of the paste holding member, it is possible to easily and highly accurately form electrodes of all aspects including the electrodes of the gorge pitch. Excess paste of the paste holding member can be easily removed, and contamination of parts due to excess paste can be prevented. Problems with screen printing are eliminated. And the like.
