[Detailed description of the invention] (Field of industrial application) This invention is applicable to connectors, especially circuit boards equipped with connecting terminals and driving parts for displays such as LCD, EL, and plasma displays, or various electric circuit boards. This invention relates to a packing connector that adapts well to the irregularities of the earth and is useful for connecting these. (Prior Art) Conventionally, as a connector 21 for connecting boards of various electric circuits, as shown in FIGS. In addition, a press-contact type connector is widely used in which a copper-clad polyester layer or a copper-clad polyimide layer 23 is provided around the periphery, and a conductive line 24 is provided by etching the surface of the connector. As shown in FIG. 3c, it is used in pressure contact between the fixed board 25 and the circuit board 26. However, as electric circuits have become more dense in recent years, their connection terminals have also become more dense, but this type of connector uses rigid plastic layers such as polyester and polyimide. However, it is difficult to follow the undulations, steps, etc. of the board, and therefore it is becoming difficult to obtain reliable connections. The conductive line 24 in this connector is made by etching the copper-clad plastic layer 23. In this case, as shown in FIG. 10, moisture etc. easily enter the space 29 other than the contact area with the electrode 28 on the circuit board 25, which has the disadvantage of causing electrode corrosion. The plastic layer and conductive lines are slippery, so if vibration is applied or the connection itself is dropped, the connection between the circuit board and the connector can slip or sag, causing loss of continuity. This also causes the problem that the cushion material 27 and the like must be separately prepared and aligned as shown in FIG. 9b. (27' in FIG. 9c is a spacer), and solutions to these problems are desired. Furthermore, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 55-83174, a method in which a linear conductor is wound around an insulating core has been proposed; Misalignment is likely to occur, and moisture due to dew condensation is likely to enter the gap between the substrate and the substrate, resulting in leakage. Furthermore, conductive lines made of conductive paste are printed on a plastic film (this film has no elasticity) as disclosed in JP-A-59-151786, and a hot melt adhesive is applied between the lines. The so-called heat-seal connectors coated with rubber have no elasticity, so they do not have a vibration absorption function, and when vibrations are applied, they tend to peel off and break the wires. When wires are arranged at equal intervals and buried in an elastic insulating board leaving the outermost part, the ring-shaped metal wires are not fixed with adhesive, so they are not only easy to move, but also only the outermost part is buried. Because some of the ring-shaped metal wires are buried in the ground, some of the ring-shaped metal wires are buried irregularly, which tends to cause poor conductivity. This also causes condensation due to the inability to eliminate gaps between the substrate and the electrodes. The drawback was that it was prone to leaks. (Structure of the invention) The present invention relates to a packable connector that can eliminate such disadvantages and drawbacks.
This is a silane-based material in which multiple highly rigid conductive thin wires are buried parallel to each other so that 1/6 to 5/6 of the conductive wires are buried in the creeping surface of an insulating silicone rubber-based elastic body with a JIS A hardness of 20 to 80. It is characterized by being adhesively fixed with a butt-springing agent. That is, as a result of various studies in order to develop a connector with good packing properties that does not involve the disadvantages mentioned above, the inventors of the present invention found that the conventionally known copper-clad plastic film could be replaced with an elastic material such as synthetic rubber, especially silicone rubber with low compression set. insulating material made of
Preferably, these are made of rubber having a specific hardness, and if conductive thin wires are buried in this to a specific depth and the remaining part is exposed and fixed with adhesive, this member will have elasticity. Because it has packing properties, it can follow the undulations and steps of the board well, making it possible to obtain a connector with high connection reliability. This connector can also pack airtightly between opposing boards and between electrodes, so it can keep moisture away. We discovered that there is no risk of intrusion, and since the conductive thin wire and the elastic body are fixed with a specific adhesive and will not slip, conduction is always maintained stably. The insulating rubber used here The present invention was completed after conducting research on elastic bodies, conductive thin wires, types of adhesives, and methods of arranging conductive thin wires. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings showing representative embodiments of the present invention. Figures 1a and 1b are perspective views of the packing connector of the present invention (hereinafter simply referred to as the connector). It is formed by arranging a plurality of conductive thin wires 3 in parallel to each other so that 1/6 to 5/6 of their diameter is buried on the surface of a silicone rubber sheet elastic body 2. The silicone rubber elastic sheet 2 is used as a core material 4 made of rigid plastic, etc., as shown in FIG. It may also have the following. For example, as shown in FIG. 2 , this connector 1 connects electrodes 7 and
8, and the conductive thin wire is embedded in the insulating elastic silicone rubber, and the circuit boards 5 and 6 can be electrically connected by pressing them together. The insulating silicone rubber sheet elastic body 2 (hereinafter simply referred to as the elastic body 2) constituting this connector 1 is made of various silicone rubbers or chloroprene, butadiene, styrene butadiene, nitrile, butyl, ethylene propylene, acrylic, fluorinated rubber, etc. Silicone rubber alone or in combination may be used in terms of compression set, cushioning properties, durability, electrical insulation, environmental stability, and workability. It is preferable to use a foamy and/or closed-cell silicone rubber sponge, but these should have a JIS A hardness of 20 to 80° in terms of cushioning properties and ability to follow the undulations of substrates, etc. The reason for specifying the hardness in this way is that in order to ensure airtight packing between the substrate and electrodes, not only the conductive thin wires that are involved in conduction but also the conductive thin wires that are not involved in conduction are bonded together in an insulating elastic material. This is also to enable the material to penetrate into the space between the counter electrode and the substrate to densely fill the space between the counter electrode and the substrate. Furthermore, the hardness of the elastic body was set to 20 to 80 for the reasons mentioned above. If it is less than 20 degrees, it will be too soft and the load will not be concentrated on the thin wire when pressed, making it impossible to obtain stable conduction. If the temperature is too high, the packing property is insufficient, and the adhesion between the board, electrode, and thin wire is poor, creating gaps and allowing moisture to enter, which has a negative effect on connection reliability, and also makes the connector slippery and easily misaligned. It's for a reason. In addition, as this silicone rubber, heat-curable silicone rubber using organic peroxide as a vulcanizing agent,
Hydroxyl group-containing organopolysiloxanes are made room temperature curable by adding organosilanes and organosiloxanes containing hydrolyzable groups, and mixtures of vinyl group-containing organopolysiloxanes and organohydrodiene polysiloxanes are platinum-based. Although it may be any addition reaction type that is cured in the presence of a catalyst, it is preferable to use an addition reaction type because it is curable at low temperatures. Note that the shape of the insulating elastic body used in the present invention may be sheet-like, block-like, rod-like, square-like, etc. as appropriate depending on the purpose and use, as long as at least one pair of press-contact and clamping surfaces are substantially parallel. It will be done. In addition, the conductive thin wire 3 constituting this connector 1
It may be made of highly rigid metals such as nickel, steel, stainless steel, tungsten, phosphor bronze, gold, aluminum, etc., but this may be made of metal plating or conductive plastic plating on the surface of various plastic fibers. It may also be made of a conductive plastic linear body, or it may be made of carbon fiber or glass fiber whose surface is coated with conductive plating or conductive paint, but this may be due to mechanical properties, It may be selected appropriately based on electrical characteristics, price, etc. The conductive thin wire is arranged in the elastic body 2 so that it is embedded parallel to the surface of the elastic body 2 by 1/6 to 5/6 of its thickness in the pressure contact direction, as shown in FIG. 3, for example. There is no need to specify the cross-sectional shape of this object; it may be irregular, star-shaped,
The elastic body 2 may have any shape, such as circular, square, arcuate, fan-shaped, or semicircular, but from the viewpoint of manufacturing accuracy, bending strength, and productivity,
It is better to use a round shape as shown in the figure in terms of workability when arranging it, ease of getting into the elastic body 2 during pressure contact during conduction, and manufacturing accuracy. In order to increase the contact area of the connecting portion and improve the connection reliability, the exposed portion may be made flat as shown in FIG. The diameter of this conductive thin wire is on the order of approximately 1 μm to several millimeters, usually 5 μm to 500 μm, and is appropriately selected depending on the intended use. It is necessary that the pitch be smaller than the pitch of , and of course it should be smaller than the dimension in the pressure contact direction, but in practical terms it should be 1/3 or less of the dimension in the pressure contact direction. It is desirable that this arrangement pitch be less than the arrangement pitch of the electrode terminals to be connected, so it should be 1/2 or less of the diameter of the electrode terminals for the intended connection and should be dense as long as it does not lose elasticity. It is better to take it as a fact. The connector of the present invention constructed in this manner basically has the shape shown in FIG. This elastic body 2 is attached to the elastic body 2.
In addition, a silane coupling agent suitable for the surface material of the conductive thin wire is often mixed or applied to the surface of the thin wire to a thickness that does not impair conductivity. Silane coupling agents such as chlorosilane, N-β-(aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, etc. may be blended or applied, but among these, γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane is preferred. According to this, the elastic body and the conductive thin wire are bonded extremely strongly, so that even if the area is small, the elastic body and the conductive thin wire will not be misaligned during pressure welding. Although the core material 4 described above is not necessarily required, when the elastic body 2 alone is difficult to handle during assembly as described above, if the connector 1 is long, it may become warped or twisted. In some cases, it may be appropriate to use a rod of relatively rigid plastic such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., or a rod of relatively flexible metal or alloy. The shape and configuration of the connector 1 may be arbitrary, and the connector 1 may have a structure that is pressed against an electrode of a circuit board to be electrically connected by the connector 1 . However, the arrangement of the conductive thin wire 3 constituting this connector 1 on the elastic body 2 is such that the conductive thin wire 3 and the elastic body 2 are
In order to secure the adhesion area with the elastic body 2, the conductive thin wire 3 is pushed into the elastic body 2 to almost the same surface as the surface of the elastic body 2 during pressure contact during use as shown in FIG. Furthermore, if the conductive thin wire is too exposed, a large force will be required for this pressure welding.
Conductive thin wire 3 may cause deformation of the electric circuit.
It is necessary to embed 1/6 or more, preferably 1/3 or more, but not more than 5/6 of it in the elastic body 2. The shape and structure of the connector 1 of the present invention may be arbitrary, and the structure may be such that the connector 1 is pressed against the electrodes of the circuit board to which it is electrically connected. In addition to the one shown in FIG. 1 described above, examples include rod-shaped ones whose cross sections are shown in FIGS. 5 a to 5 f,
An example of a method of connecting a circuit board using this is shown in FIGS. 6a to 6f. In addition, in the figure, 9 is a spacer, 10 is a pressure welding holder, 11 is a casing, 12 is an upper casing,
13 indicates the lower casing. (Effects of the present invention) The connector 1 of the present invention has a plurality of conductive fine wires with high rigidity embedded in the creeping surface of an insulating silicone rubber elastic body with a JIS A hardness of 20 to 80, 1/6 to 5/6 of which are embedded. This is a packable connector characterized by being adhesively fixed with a silane coupling agent so that the connectors are parallel to each other. As shown in Figure 7, even if there are undulations or steps on the circuit board, this elastic body follows and absorbs them, creating an airtight connection, making it possible to make a highly reliable connection. During use, the conductive thin wire is pushed into the elastic body and tightly attached to the board, so moisture does not get in there, and there is no need to use cushioning material, and this connector will not fall or fall.
This has the advantage of not shifting laterally even when subjected to impact.
