(57)【要約】 【目的】 コルゲート管等の流体輸送管に設けた分岐孔
と分岐管の接合部の融着強度に偏りが発生しないように
する。 【構成】 熱可塑性樹脂製のコルゲート管1に設けた円
形状の分岐孔1aに熱可塑性樹脂製の分岐管2を差し込
み、その分岐管2の前記分岐孔1aとの接合部2aにあ
らかじめ捲回しておいたニクムロ線に通電してコルゲー
ト管1と分岐管2を接続する際に、前記分岐管2の分岐
孔1aとの接合部2aの外径を、あらかじめ前記分岐孔
1aの径より0.5〜5.0%大きくしておくととも
に、前記分岐管2の先端部2bをあらかじめ前記接合部
2aから先端に向けて漸次細くし、かつ先端の外径を前
記分岐孔1aの径より小さくしておく方法。

【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、下水,上水,ガス等
の流体の輸送に使用する熱可塑性樹脂製の流体輸送管
(コルゲート管,直管)の所要箇所に、熱可塑性樹脂製
の分岐管を加熱融着により一体に接続する、流体輸送管
と分岐管の接続方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】従来の、この種の接続方法としては、特
公昭62−19631号公報に開示されているものがあ
る。
【0003】この接続方法によれば、流体輸送管と分岐
管は次の手順で接続される。まず、図3に示すように、
接合部にニクロム線13を捲回した分岐管12を、流体
輸送管11に形成した分岐孔14に差し込んで、両管1
1,12を最終の接続姿勢に保持する。次いで、そのま
まの状態でニクロム線13に通電して両者11,12の
接合部位を同時に加熱軟化させる。そして、その直後
に、図4に示すように、拡径治具15を分岐管12に挿
入して押し込み、その傾斜拡径部15aにより分岐管1
2の接合部を拡径して分岐孔14に分岐管12の接合部
を融着する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、上記接続方法
にあっては、拡径治具15を使用しなければならない煩
わしさがあるだけでなく、拡径治具15で分岐管12の
接合部を拡径するとき、その径方向に均等に拡径しにく
いため、分岐孔14と分岐管12の接合部の融着強度に
偏りが発生しやすい等の難点があった。
【0005】この発明は、このような従来の問題点を解
決するためになされたもので、拡径治具を使用しない
で、流体輸送管の分岐孔と分岐管の接合部の融着強度に
偏りが発生しにくい、流体輸送管と分岐管の接続方法を
提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明が提供する流体
輸送管と分岐管の接続方法は、熱可塑性樹脂製の流体輸
送管に設けた円形状の分岐孔に熱可塑性樹脂製の分岐管
を差し込み、その分岐管の前記分岐孔との接合部にあら
かじめ捲回しておいた通電による加熱線に通電して流体
輸送管と分岐管を接続する際に、前記分岐管の分岐孔と
の接合部の外径を、あらかじめ前記分岐孔の径より0.
5〜5.0%大きくしておくとともに、前記分岐管の先
端部をあらかじめ前記接合部から先端に向けて漸次細く
し、かつ先端の外径を前記分岐孔の径より小さくしてお
くことを特徴とする流体輸送管と分岐管の接続方法であ
る。
【0007】上記流体輸送管及び分岐管に使用する樹脂
としては、熱可塑性樹脂であるポリオレフィン系樹脂、
ポリ塩化ビニル樹脂等を挙げることができるが、低密
度、中密度または高密度のポリエチレンまたはポリプロ
ピレン等のポリオレフイン系樹脂が好ましい。
【0008】分岐管に使用する樹脂は流体輸送管のそれ
と同じ系統の樹脂であることが融着強度と耐久性の面か
ら好ましい。
【0009】通電による加熱線としては、例えば、ニク
ロム線や鉄線を挙げることができるが、流体輸送管及び
分岐管の樹脂を溶融、軟化させるまでに昇温可能なもの
であればよい。
【0010】ポリエチレン樹脂の場合、加熱線の温度は
100〜220℃位が適当である。
【0011】分岐管の先端部を先端に向けて漸次細く
し、先端の外径を分岐孔の径以下としたのは、分岐管の
接合部外径が分岐孔の径より大きいので、分岐孔に円滑
に入りやすくするためである。加熱線は樹脂に被覆され
ているのが密着性の面から好ましいが、分岐管と一体成
型してその接合部の外表面付近に埋設するのが最も好ま
しい。このようにすると、分岐管を強制的に差し込むと
きに、加熱線が分岐管から剥離しないからである。この
ほか、加熱線は分岐管の接合部にあらかじめスパイラル
状に設けた溝に捲回するようにしてもよい。
【0012】分岐管の接合部の外周面は、円筒面でよい
が、分岐孔を徐々に均等に押し広げるためには、先端部
側へ向かって徐々に外径を小さくしてテーパーをつける
のが好ましい。
【0013】分岐管の接合部外径を分岐孔より0.5〜
5.0%大きくしたのは、0.5%未満であると、加熱
線に通電した場合、分岐管の接合部と分岐孔との間に溶
融し樹脂が充填されないで空隙を生じるか、または充填
されるとしても厚みが薄くなる個所ができやすくなり、
この個所に水圧などがかかると、ここから水が漏洩する
恐れがあるからである。また、5.0%を超えると、分
岐孔が拡径され過ぎて大きくめくれ、加熱線に通電した
場合、溶融した樹脂が分岐管の周囲に均等に充填されに
くくなり、空隙などの欠陥を生じやすいからである。
【0014】分岐管には、流体輸送管への接続状態にお
いて、その外周面に当接するサドル部を設けるのが位置
決め、接続強度の面で好ましい。

【作用】この発明によれば、分岐管の先端の外径が分岐
孔の径より小さいので、分岐管はその先端部において分
岐孔に誘導され入りやすい。また、分岐管の接合部は分
岐孔の径より大きいので、誘導された分岐管を分岐孔に
圧入すると、分岐孔は分岐管の接合部によってその径方
向へ均等に押し広げられる。
【0016】押し広げられた分岐孔は元の径に戻ろうと
し、そのときの復元力が分岐管の接合部に圧縮力として
その全周にわたってほぼ均一に作用する。
【0017】この分岐孔の復元力が通電による接合部の
樹脂の溶融によって解き放たれると、分岐管の接合部の
外周部に溶融樹脂の肉盛りが一様に偏りなく発生する。
その結果、分岐管の接合部と分岐孔の口縁部の融着強度
が、接合部位全周にわたってほぼ均一になる。

【実施例】以下、この発明の実施例1,2を図によって
説明する。
【0019】実施例1,2においては、流体輸送管とし
てコルゲート管を使用し、分岐管としては直管タイプの
ものを使用した。接続方法の説明の前に、まずこれらの
管について図1と図2により説明する。
【0020】図において、1は高密度ポリエチレン(密
度0.945g/cm3 MFR0.7g/10min)
製のコルゲート管で、この発明にいう流体輸送管であ
る。コルゲート管1には後述する分岐管2を接続するた
めの分岐孔1aが設けてある。コルゲート管1の内径は
250mm、肉厚は2mmである。2はサドル部付の分岐管
であり、同じく高密度ポリエチレン(密度0.954g
/cm3 MFR5.0g/10min)製で、外径は6
3mm、肉厚は5mmである。
【0021】2aは分岐管2の分岐孔1aとの接合部
で、この接合部2aの表面付近には加熱線であるニクロ
ム線3が埋設状態で捲回されている。ニクロム線3の直
径は0.7mm、延長線長さは2mで、22mm幅で捲回さ
れている。上記分岐管2の分岐孔1aとの接合部2a
は、実施例1,2では、コルゲート管1の円筒管aと波
形管bの重合部1bに対応する部位である。ニロクム線
3はこの部位に埋設されている。
【0022】2bは分岐管2の先端部で、上記接合部2
aから先端に向けて細くなっており、先端の外径は58
mmである。分岐管2のサドル部2cはニクロム線3に通
電して樹脂が溶融したときでも、分岐管2の位置決めを
する役目を果たす。分岐管2を分岐孔1aに圧入してサ
ドル部2cがコルゲート管1に当接したとき、前記接合
部2aはコルゲート管1の重合部1bと対向する位置に
くる。4は分岐管2とこれに接続する図外の接続管との
間をシールするゴム輪である。
【0023】実施例1と実施例2においては、分岐管2
の接合部2aの外径(A)と分岐孔1aの径(B)を、
それぞれ表1のように設定した。
【0024】次に、コルゲート管1と分岐管2の接続
は、以下の手順で行った。
【0025】(1)分岐管2の先端部2bをコルゲート
管1の分岐孔1aに差し込んで、サドル部2cがコルゲ
ート管1に当接するまで圧入した。
【0026】(2)ニクロム線3に12Vの電圧で4分
間通電し、1時間ほど冷却して溶融樹脂を固化させた。
冷却後、密閉性を調べた。密閉性の試験は、管内に3.
5kg/cm2 の水圧を3分間保持したときの接合部にお
ける水の漏洩の有無によって調べた。結果は表1の通り
であった。
【0027】表1から明らかなように、実施例1,2の
いずれの場合も、水の漏洩は認められなかった、なお、
比較のために、分岐管2の接合部2aによる分岐孔1a
の拡径率を6%(比較例1)と0.3%(比較例2)に
したところ、水の漏洩が認められた。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、この発明によれ
ば、上述のように、加熱線を捲回した分岐管の接合部を
流体輸送管の分岐孔より若干太くし、分岐管を分岐孔に
圧入したときの分岐孔の復元力を利用するようにしたの
で、流体輸送管の分岐孔と分岐管の接合部の融着強度に
偏りが発生しにくい、という効果が得られる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性樹脂製の流体輸送管に設けた円
    形状の分岐孔に熱可塑性樹脂製の分岐管を差し込み、そ
    の分岐管の前記分岐孔との接合部にあらかじめ捲回して
    おいた通電による加熱線に通電して流体輸送管と分岐管
    を接続する際に、前記分岐管の分岐孔との接合部の外径
    を、あらかじめ前記分岐孔の径より0.5〜5.0%大
    きくしておくとともに、前記分岐管の先端部をあらかじ
    め前記接合部から先端に向けて漸次細くし、かつ先端の
    外径を前記分岐孔の径より小さくしておくことを特徴と
    する流体輸送管と分岐管の接続方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 前記分岐管がサドル部を有している請求
    項1記載の流体輸送管と分岐管の接続方法。
  3. 【請求項3】 前記流体輸送管と分岐管がポリオレフィ
    ン樹脂製である請求項1記載の流体輸送管と分岐管の接
    続方法。
