"Problems to be solved by conventional techniques and devices" In a conventional semiconductor laser transmitter, an optical connector ferrule in which a semiconductor laser and a green rod lens (generally called a SELFOC lens in the product name) are inserted in a cylindrical body The optical fiber to be mounted and fixed inside the optical fiber is placed on the same optical axis. However, it is difficult to accurately position these three on the same optical axis. It must be located on the optical axis where the laser beam diameter is minimized at the end face of the fiber. Also, there is an optical semiconductor coupler disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 62-71909, in which a semiconductor laser is embedded in solder so that the semiconductor laser is fixed to a solid object. Since it is attached without making contact,
There is a drawback that accuracy is difficult. "Means for Solving the Problem" In view of the above circumstances, the present invention accommodates the tip of an optical fiber so that the position of the semiconductor laser in the optical axis direction can be adjusted accurately and easily. A semiconductor laser transmitter in which a first housing for positioning and a second housing for housing a semiconductor laser are connected in the optical axis direction via an adjustment washer, and light emitted from the semiconductor laser is incident on the tip of an optical fiber. In addition, the semiconductor laser transmitter is such that the position adjustment in the optical axis direction is performed by the thickness of the adjustment washer with which the semiconductor laser is replaced. [Operation] The position of the semiconductor laser on the optical axis is adjusted by replacing the adjustment washers with different thicknesses in the second container. [Example] The green rod lens 3 in the positioning cylinder 2 at the tip of the cylinder 1
Is provided in the optical axis direction, and the fixing hole 4 formed in the side wall of the cylindrical body 1 is filled with solder 5 to fix the green rod lens 3. The tubular portion 12 of the receiving body 11 is loosely fitted onto the positioning barrel 2, and the tubular solder 13 is housed in the space between the tubular portion 12 and the positioning barrel 2. The semiconductor laser 23 is brought into contact with and housed in the step portion 21 at the base end of the cylindrical body 1 via the adjustment washer 22. The adjustment washers 22 having different thicknesses are exchanged at intervals of 1/100 mm prepared in advance so that the laser beam diameter is minimized at a position separated from the semiconductor laser 23 by a distance L shown in the drawing, that is, in a focused state. Adjust to nut 24
Is screwed into the base end of the cylindrical body 1 to fix the semiconductor laser 23. It is fixed by the cylindrical solder 13 and the solder 26 in the fixing hole 25 formed in the side wall of the cylindrical body 1. Low temperature solder is used as the solder. The cylindrical solder 13 may be heated by high frequency heating, and as the solder 5 and 26, molten solder may be poured. Reference numeral 27 is a lead wire of the semiconductor laser 23.
Reference numeral 31 is a guide for the ferrule of the receiving body 11, 32
The optical fiber is accommodated in the axial direction of the ferrule on the stop surface of the ferrule, and the diameter of the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser 23 is adjusted to the minimum on the end face of the optical fiber. Reference numeral 33 is a male screw, and reference numeral 34 is a mounting flange. [Advantages of the Invention] As described above, the present invention provides the first container for accommodating and positioning the tip of the optical fiber and the second container for accommodating the semiconductor laser in the optical axis direction through the adjustment washer. A semiconductor laser transmitter connected to allow the light emitted from the semiconductor laser to enter the tip of an optical fiber, the position of which is adjusted in the optical axis direction by the thickness of an adjustment washer for replacing the semiconductor laser. Since the adjustment washers having different thicknesses prepared in advance are exchanged to perform the position adjustment, the position adjustment of the semiconductor laser in the optical axis direction can be accurately performed. Moreover, the position adjustment of the semiconductor laser can be easily performed because the adjustment is performed only by changing the washer. Further, in the present invention, since the adjusting laser washer is brought into contact with the solid object to fix the semiconductor laser, the mounting accuracy of the semiconductor laser in the optical axis direction is remarkably better than that of the conventional one embedded in solder.
