In order to clean each recess cleanly, the method of spraying water pressure on the whole seedling pot or brushing the whole surface is not sufficient, and a method of cleaning by inserting a brush in each recess Is desirable. However, the problem with this brushing method is the timing of brush insertion. First of all, if you insert the brush only up and down for the nursery pot that is transported horizontally,
The nursery pot may be damaged. However, it is inconvenient in terms of continuous cleaning to stop the transportation of the seedling raising pots one by one for brush cleaning. Therefore, there is a demand for a brush drive device capable of inserting, cleaning, and removing the brush without stopping the transportation of the seedling raising pot.

Therefore, if the distance between the brushes is made constant, the position of the recessed portion will be displaced if the kind of seedling-growing pot is different, and this will hinder the cleaning work machine. Therefore, there is a demand for a brush driving device that can adjust the distance between the brushes according to the change in the distance between the recesses.

That is, the seedling raising pot is turned upside down and conveyed at a position above the brush cleaning device, during which the brush fixed in a vertically upper position is inserted into each recess, and the brush rotates at the insertion position. The inside of the recess is cleaned and then removed.
Since the pots are washed without stopping the transportation of the seedling raising pots, the work efficiency is good. Also, even if the shape of the recesses changes due to different types of nursery pots and the intervals between the recesses change, the front and rear spacing of the brush support that supports the brush is adjusted, and the angle of the sprocket at the apex position of the brush transport chain is adjusted. By doing so, an appropriate interval can be adjusted, so that a brush can be surely inserted into each recess for cleaning regardless of the type and shape of the seedling-growing pot.
