【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、水、油、蒸気、ガスな
どの配管に使用するねじ込み形管継手に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】従来、金属性の管及び配管部品の腐食を
防ぐために、図3に示す如く、管(1)にあっては端部
のおねじ部(2)を除く少なくとも外周面が熱可塑性プ
ラスチックで被覆され、ねじ込み管継手にあっても金属
性の継手本体(3)の少なくとも外周面が熱可塑性プラ
スチックで被覆されており、そして、継手本体(3)の
端部から突出させている継手側の熱可塑性プラスチック
層(4)と、管(1)側の熱可塑性プラスチック層
(5)との間に、シール材(所謂パテ)(6)を詰め込
むことにより、ねじ部からの漏れを防いでいた。
【0003】一方、熱可塑性プラスチック製の管と継手
を接合させる手段としての融着技術はあった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】前記従来技術は、時間
の経過に伴ってシール材(6)の質性が劣化並びに損失
するため、永久的または半永久的にねじ部からの漏れを
防ぐことができない問題があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】然るに、本発明は、金属
性の継手本体の外周面が防食用の熱可塑性プラスチック
で被覆され、且つ、熱可塑性プラスチック層の端部が継
手本体の端部から突出しているねじ込み形管継手におい
て、前記継手本体の端部から突出している熱可塑性プラ
スチック層と、金属性の被接続管の外周面を被覆する防
食用の熱可塑性プラスチック層との隙間に挿入して、外
側にある継手本体側の熱可塑性プラスチック層と内側に
ある管側の熱可塑性プラスチック層とを融着させるスリ
ーブ状の発熱体を備えたものである。

【作 用】従って、本発明によれば、金属性の管と継手
本体の外周面に被覆されたそれぞれの熱可塑性プラスチ
ック層が融着により一体のものとなり、金属性の配管系
外周面を連続的に熱可塑性プラスチック層で被覆される
ので、管と継手本体のねじ部からの漏れが永久的または
半永久的に防止されるものである。

【実施例】以下本発明の実施例を図面に基づいて詳述す
る。図1は本発明に係るねじ込み形管継手の断面説明で
あり、図中(11)は端部におねじ(12)を形成した
金属性の管で、おねじ(12)部を除く管(11)の外
周面が防食用の熱可塑性プラスチックで被覆され、管
(11)の外周面に略均一な肉厚で熱可塑性プラスチッ
ク層(13)が形成されている。
【0008】また、図中(14)は前記の管(11)を
接続させるためのソケット形のねじ込み形管継手の金属
性の継手本体で、継手本体(14)の各ねじ込み口部
(15)の内周面には前記のおねじ(12)に噛合うめ
ねじ(16)が形成されている。また継手本体(15)
の外周面が防食用の熱可塑性プラスチックで被覆され、
継手本体(14)の外周面に各均一な肉厚で熱可塑性プ
ラスチック層(17)が形成されると共に、該熱可塑性
プラスチック層(14)の各端部(18)は継手本体
(14)の各端部外周面から管軸方向に所定長さ突出さ
せている。
【0009】そして、継手本体(14)のねじ込み部
(15)の外径は管(11)の外径(熱可塑性プラスチ
ック層を含む)より若干大きく形成され、管(11)と
継手本体(14)をねじ接合させたとき、管(11)の
熱可塑性プラスチック層(13)の端部外周側に所定の
隙間(L)を持って継手本体(14)の端部から突出し
た熱可塑性プラスチック層(17)の端部(18)が嵌
合され、管(11)と継手本体(14)の各熱可塑性プ
ラスチック層(13)(17)の端部が隙間(L)を持
って二重に重なるようにしている。
【0010】また、図中(19)はスリーブ状の発熱体
であり、二つ折りにした電気抵抗線(20)を円柱面に
沿って螺線状に巻いて形成したもので、発熱体(19)
の一端側に電気抵抗線(20)の折返し部を位置させ、
他端側に電気抵抗線(20)の両端部を引出すようにし
ている。また前記電気抵抗線(20)の両端部を引出し
た発熱体(19)の端部外周に熱可塑性プラスチック製
のカラー(21)を嵌合固定し、カラー(21)の端面
から前記電気抵抗線(20)の両端部を露出させるよう
にしている。また図2に示す如く、前記電気抵抗線(2
0)は通電時に抵抗熱を発する導電線(22)と、導電
線(22)の外周に形成する熱可塑性プラスチック製の
第1の被覆層(23)と、被覆層(23)の外周に形成
するガラス繊維で編上げた網袋状の絶縁層(24)と、
絶縁層(24)の外周に形成する熱可塑性プラスチック
製の第2の被覆層(25)から成り、電気抵抗線(2
0)外周面の第2の被覆層(25)を融着または他の熱
可塑性プラスチックで発熱体(19)外周面を全体的に
被覆し、発熱体(19)を保形している。カラー(2
1)はこの内周の電気抵抗線(20)外周面の第2の被
覆層(25)と融着または発熱体(19)全体を被覆す
る熱可塑性プラスチック層で発熱体(19)の端部外周
に固定される。前記発熱体(19)の肉厚つまり電気抵
抗線(20)の外径は前記隙間(L)と略同じ長さに、
また発熱体(19)の内径は前記管(11)の外径(熱
可塑性プラスチック層を含む)と略同じ長さに、また発
熱体(19)の外径は前記継手本体(14)のねじ込み
部(15)の外径(継手本体の各端部から突出した熱可
塑性プラスチック層の内径)と略同じ長さに形成され、
さらに発熱体(19)のカラー(21)から他端までの
軸方向長さは前記継手本体(14)の各端部からの熱可
塑性プラスチック層(17)の突出長さと略同じ長さに
形成され、管(11)と継手本体(14)をねじ接合さ
せたとき、管(11)外周面の熱可塑性プラスチック層
(13)と継手本体(14)外周面の熱可塑性プラスチ
ック層(17)の端部(18)との隙間(L)に、発熱
体(19)の内外周面が各熱可塑性プラスチック層(1
3)(18)と接触する状態に、電気抵抗線(20)の
折返し部が位置する端部から発熱体(19)を挿入嵌合
すると共に、電気抵抗線(20)の両端部を引出したカ
ラー(21)の端面の反対側の端面を継手本体(14)
の熱可塑性プラスチック層(17)の端面に当接させる
ようにしている。

チック層(17)と、発熱体(19)の電気抵抗線(2

性プラスチックは同一の熱可塑性プラスチックが使用さ
れる。また、発熱体(19)の一端面から引出される電
気抵抗線(20)は第1の被覆層(23)、絶縁層(2
4)、第2の被覆層(25)を剥離して導電線(22)
を露出させている。
【0012】本実施例は上記の如く構成するもので、発
熱体(19)をカラー(21)側から管(11)に嵌込
み、継手本体(17)をねじ込んだときに熱可塑性プラ
スチック層(17)にかからない位置まで発熱体(1
9)を管(11)上でスライドさせて後退させておく、
そして、管(11)端部のおねじ(12)部に継手本体
(14)の一方のねじ込み部(15)をめねじ(16)
を介して最後までねじ込み、管(11)と継手本体(1
4)の一方のねじ込み部(15)をねじ接合させる。然
る後、発熱体(19)を管(11)上で継手本体(1
4)方向にスライドさせ、管(11)外周面の熱可塑性
プラスチック層(13)と継手本体(14)外周面の熱
可塑性プラスチック層(17)の端部(18)との間で
できる隙間(L)に発熱体(19)を電気抵抗線(2

1及び第2の被覆層(23)(25)及び発熱体(1

性プラスチック層(13)及び継手本体(14)外周面
の熱可塑性プラスチック層(17)の端部(18)が加
熱されて融着される。これによって、管(11)外周面
と継手本体(14)の外周面の防食用の熱可塑性プラス
チック層(13)(17)が一体のものとなり、これら
金属性の管(11)と継手本体(14)の配管系外周面
を連続的に熱可塑性プラスチック層で被覆することがで
き、管(11)と継手本体(14)のねじ部からの漏れ
が半永久的または永久的に防止される。

合、予め継手本体(14)の熱可塑性プラスチック層
(17)の端部内周に発熱体(19)を挿入嵌合させ、

【発明の効果】以上実施例から明らかなように本発明
は、金属性の継手本体(14)の外周面が防食用の熱可
塑性プラスチックで被覆され、且つ、熱可塑性プラスチ
ック層(17)の端部(18)が継手本体(14)の端
部から突出しているねじ込み形管継手において、前記継
手本体(14)の端部から突出している熱可塑性プラス
チック層(18)と、金属性の被接続管(11)の外周
面を被覆する防食用の熱可塑性プラスチック層(13)
との隙間(L)に挿入して、外側にある継手本体(1
4)側の熱可塑性プラスチック層(18)と内側にある
管(11)側の熱可塑性プラスチック層(13)とを融
着させるスリーブ状の発熱体(19)を備えたもので、
金属性の管(11)と継手本体(14)の外周面に被覆
されたそれぞれの熱可塑性プラスチック層(13)(1
7)が融着により一体のものとなり、金属性の配管系外
周面を連続的に熱可塑性プラスチック層で被覆されるの
で、管(11)と継手本体(14)のねじ部からの漏れ
が永久的または半永久的に防止することができる顕著な
効果を奏するものである。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 金属性の継手本体の外周面が防食用の熱
    可塑性プラスチックで被覆され、且つ、熱可塑性プラス
    チック層の端部が継手本体の端部から突出しているねじ
    込み形管継手において、前記継手本体の端部から突出し
    ている熱可塑性プラスチック層と、金属性の被接続管の
    外周面を被覆する防食用の熱可塑性プラスチック層との
    隙間に挿入して、外側にある継手本体側の熱可塑性プラ
    スチック層と内側にある管側の熱可塑性プラスチック層
    とを融着させるスリーブ状の発熱体を備えたことを特徴
    とするねじ込み形管継手。
