Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 《産業上の利用分野》 本発明はシリコーングリースに関し、特に極圧潤滑特性
に優れたシリコーングリースに関する。
《従来の技術》 シリコーン油、特にジメチルシリコーン油或いはメチル
フェニルシリコーン油は、粘度温度特性、耐熱耐酸化
性、剪断安定性、化学的安定性等に優れていることか
ら、これらのシリコーン油を基油としたシリコーングリ
ースも優れた温度特性、耐熱性、耐酸化性及び化学的安
定性を示し、従来から潤滑用として賞用されている。
しかしながら、これらのシリコーン油は鉱物油や合成油
に比べて鋼対鋼等の境界潤滑性が貧弱なために、高速、
高荷重での使用には適さず、その用途には大きな制限が
ある。このため、シリコーン油に脂肪酸やその誘導体、
塩素化合物、弗素化合物、リン化合物、アミン化合物等
の油性向上剤や極圧添加剤を加えてその境界潤滑性を改
良することが試みられており、例えば塩素化パラフィン
やジアルキルクロレンデートを添加する方法（特公昭51
−38864号公報参照）や、1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10,13,13,14,1
4−ドデカクロロ−1,4,4a,5,6,6a,7,10,10a,11,12,12a
−ドデカヒドロ−1,4;7,10−ジメタノジベンゾ〔a,e〕
シクロオクテンを添加する方法（特開昭62−283196号）
等が提案されている。
《発明が解決しようとする課題》 しかしながら、これらの改良によっても未だ十分な境界
潤滑性を得るにはいたっておらず、長鎖アルキル基含有
シリコーン油をベースとしたグリース（米国特許第3,57
9,467号、同第3,673,089号）の場合でも、低荷重域での
潤滑性は良いものの、高荷重域については満足な潤滑性
が得られず、更に改善が望まれていた。
本発明者等は、係る従来の欠点を解決すべく鋭意検討し
た結果、長鎖アルキル基含有シリコーン油をベースとし
たシリコーングリースに有機モリブデン化合物を添加し
た場合には、高荷重域についての潤滑性が著しく改善さ
れることを見出し本発明に到達した。
従って本発明の目的は、耐熱耐寒性、耐酸化性、化学的
安定性、低荷重潤滑性に優れると共に、極圧潤滑性にも
優れたシリコーングリース組成物を提供することにあ
る。
《課題を解決するための手段》 本発明の上記の目的は、 一般式 で表わされ、25℃における粘度が10〜10,000cStである
長鎖アルキル基含有オルガノポリシロキサン： 10重量
部、 増稠剤 １〜60重量部 及び 有機モリブデン化合物： ５〜30重量部 を主成分とすることを特徴とするシリコーングリース組
成物によって達成された。
上記一般式 において、R1は炭素数４〜20、好ましくは６〜14より成
る一価の飽和又は不飽和の炭化水素基である。R2は炭素
数１〜３より成る一価の飽和又は不飽和の炭化水素基及
び置換又は非置換のアリール基の中から選ばれる一価の
基であり、具体例としては、メチル基、エチル基、プロ
ピル基、トリフロロプロピル基、フェニル基、クロロフ
ェニル基等を挙げることができるが、これらの中でも特
にメチル基が好ましい。R3は式 及び によって表わされる基の中から選択されるヒンダードフ
ェノール構造を持つ一価の有機基であって、0.3≦ａ≦
1.0、1.0≦ｂ≦2.0、０＜ｃ≦0.05、ａ＋ｂ＋ｃは1.8〜
2.3、ｎは１〜５である。
ここでR1の炭素数が４より小さいと充分な潤滑性向上効
果が得られず、20より大きいと低温特性が低下しグリー
ス特性として好ましくない。
又、ａが0.3より小さいと得られるグリース組成物に充
分な潤滑性が付与されず、1.0より大きいとグリース組
成物の低温特性が低くなる。一方、ｂが1.0より小さい
と得られるグリース組成物の低温特性が低下し、2.0よ
り大きいと充分な潤滑性能が得られない。ｃは0.05以下
であるが、これは、0.05より大きくても耐熱性の大幅向
上は望めないし、経済的にも不利であるためである。一
方、ヒンダードフェノール含有基を導入することによっ
て長鎖アルキル基含有オルガノポリシロキサンの耐熱性
を向上させることができる。
本発明で使用する第２成分の増稠剤は、当業者が一般に
使用するものの中から適宜選択することができ、特に限
定するものではない。その具体例としては、高級脂肪酸
の金属塩、シリカ、ウレア、酸化亜鉛、アルミナ等が挙
げられる。これらの中でも高級脂肪酸の金属塩が特に好
ましく、ミスリチン酸リチウム、ステアリン酸リチウム
及び12−ヒドロキシステアリン酸リチウムが好ましい。
増稠剤は、グリースのチキソ性を高めるために添加する
ものであるから、ベースオイルの粘度と目的とする硬さ
（稠度）によって変えることができ特に限定されるもの
ではないが、通常、１〜60重量部とすることが好まし
く、特に10〜30重量部とすることが好ましい。
本発明で使用する第３成分の有機モリブデン化合物は、
シリコーングリースに極圧潤滑性を付与する作用を有す
るものである。好ましい有機モリブデン化合物としては
モリブデンジチオカーバメート或いはモリブデンジチオ
フォスフェートを挙げることができるが、特に好ましい
ものとしてモリブデンジチオカーバメート（商品名：サ
クラルーブ500及びサクラルーブ600（旭電化工業（株）
製））を挙げることができる。有機モリブデン化合物の
添加量としては、３〜30重量部とすることが好ましく、
特に５〜15重量部とすることが好ましい。
この添加量が５重量部より少ないと、期待する極圧潤滑
性が不十分であり、30重量部より多くしても、極圧潤滑
性能の大幅な向上が得られないばかりか、経済的に不利
となる。
本発明においては、以上の３成分に加えて、従来から添
加することができるものとして知られている各種の添加
剤、即ち高級脂肪酸、油脂、エステル油等の油性剤、ア
ミン系化合物、フェノール系化合物、イオウ化合物、リ
ン化合物等の酸化防止剤及び有機モリブデン以外の極圧
添加剤等をグルコースの性能を損なわない範囲で適宜添
加しても良いことは当然である。
本発明のシリコーングリースは、公知の方法によって以
上の素材を均一に撹拌分散せしめることによって容易に
得ることができる。
《発明の効果》 上記の如くして得られた本発明のグリースは長鎖アルキ
ル基含有オルガノポリシロキサンをベースオイルとして
いるために耐熱・耐寒性、耐酸化性、化学的安定性及び
低荷重潤滑性に優れるのみならず、特定量の有機モリブ
デン化合物を含有させることにより高荷重潤滑性が改善
され、鋼−鋼間の極圧潤滑性に対しても優れた特性を有
する。
《実施例》 以下、本発明を実施例に基づいて更に説明するが本発明
はこれによって限定されるものではない。
実施例１〜5. で表されるデシル（3,5−ジ−ｔ−ブチル−４−ヒドロ
キシフェニルプロピル）メチルシリコーン（Ａ）（25℃
粘度、350cSt）100重量部と、ステアリン酸リチウム30
重量部を、180〜210℃で２時間加熱撹拌した後これを室
温まで冷却し、次いでモリブデンジチオカーバメート
（商品名：サクラルーブ600（旭電化工業（株）製））
５〜30重量部を加えて均一に混合し、目的とするアルキ
ル変性シリコーングリースを得た。
得られたシリコーングリースについて、四球潤滑試験を
行い、1,500γpm/1分間／室温の条件下における融着荷
重及び1,000γpm/40kgf/5分間／室温の条件下における
摩耗痕直径について測定したところ、表−１の結果が得
られた。
比較例１〜2. モリブデンジチオカーバメート量を減らした他は、実施
例１と全く同様にして、アルキル変性シリコーングリー
スを得、同様にして融着荷重及び摩耗痕直径を測定し、
表−１の結果を得た。
表−１の結果は、有機モリブデン化合物の量が５重量部
以上になると急激に，融着荷重が高くなり、極圧潤滑性
がよくなることを実証するものである。
比較例3. デシル（3,5−ジ−ｔ−ブチル−４−ヒドロキシフェニ
ルプロピル）メチルシリコーン（Ａ）の代わりに、メチ
ルフェニルシリコーンを使用した他は、実施例１と全く
同様にしてシリコーングリースを得、同様にして融着荷
重及び摩耗痕直径を測定したところ、前者は316、後者
は1,2であった。
比較例4. モリブデンジチオカーバメートの代わりにジアルキルク
ロレンデートを使用した他は、実施例１と全く同様にし
て、アルキル変性シリコーングリースを得、同様にして
融着荷重及び摩耗痕直径を測定したところ前者は141、
後者は0.50であった。
比較例5. モリブデンジチオカーバメートの代わりに、二硫化モリ
ブデンを使用した他は、実施例１と全く同様にしてアル
キル変性シリコーングリースを得、同様にして融着荷重
及び摩耗痕直径を測定したところ、前者は200、後者は
0.48であった。
比較例6. モリブデンジチオカーバメートの代わりに、1,2,3,4,7,
8,9,10,13,13,14,14−ドデカクロロ−1,4,4a,5,6,6a,7,
10,10a,11,12,12−ドデカヒドロ−1,4;7,10−ジメタノ
ジベンゾ〔a,e〕シクロオクテン（商品名：デクロラン
プラス＃25、Occidental Chemical Corporation製）を
使用した他は、実施例１と全く同様にしてアルキル変性
シリコーングリースを得、同様にして融着荷重及び摩耗
痕直径を測定したところ、前者は158、後者は0.62であ
った。
以上の実施例及び比較例の結果から、本発明のシリコー
ングリースは融着荷重が大きく極圧潤滑性に優れると共
に、低荷重（40kgf）時には摩耗痕直径が小さく、潤滑
性の良いことが実証された。

  1. 【請求項１】一般式 （ここにR1は炭素数４〜20より成る一価の飽和又は不飽
    和の炭化水素基、R2は炭素数１〜３より成る一価の飽和
    又は不飽和の炭化水素基及び置換又は非置換のアリール
    基の中から選ばれる一価の基、R3は によって表されるヒンダードフェノール構造を持つ一価
    の有機基の中から選択される基であって、0.3≦ａ≦1.
    0、1.0≦ｂ≦2.0、０＜ｃ≦0.05、ａ＋ｂ＋ｃは1.8〜2.
    3、ｎは１〜５）で表され、25℃における粘度が10〜10,
    000cStである長鎖アルキル基含有オルガノポリシロキサ
    ン:100重量部、増稠剤:1〜60重量部、及び有機モリ
