着を行うエレクトロフュージョン継手において、管

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は上下水道やガスの配管と
して使用される熱可塑性合成樹脂製の管の接合に用いる
エレクトロフュージョン継手に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】エレクトロフュージョン継手は、熱可塑
性合成樹脂製の継手(管がポリエチレン製の場合、継手
もポリエチレン製である)の管との接触面に電熱線を埋
め込んだものであり、この電熱線に電力を供給すること
によって樹脂を加熱融着させ、管と継手の融着を行う。
融着の際には樹脂の熱膨張により継手内部の圧力が高ま
り、この圧力が管を継手から押し出す力として作用する
ため、従来では治具を用いて管と継手または接合する管
同士を連結し、管の抜け止めを行っていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】前記従来技術は、継手
の様々な種類やサイズに対応できるように、その種類や
サイズごとの抜け止め治具を保有し、且つ、持ち運ぶこ
とを配管業者に強いることになり、また現在そのように
なっている。
【0004】本発明は、従来のような治具を用いなくて
も管の抜け止めを行い得るエレクトロフュージョン継手
を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記の目的を達成するた
めに本発明のエレクトロフュージョン継手は、継手の管
との接触面に電熱線を埋設し、電熱線に電力を供給する
ことによって樹脂を加熱溶融させ、管と継手の融着を行
うエレクトロフュージョン継手において、管端部を差し
込む継手の受け口部の開口端部に、内面を管外面に締め
付け可能な締め止め部を一体成形したものである。

【作 用】継手の受け口部に管端部を差し込むと共に、
前記受け口部の開口端部に一体成形された締め止め部の
内面を管外面に締め付け、電熱線に電力を供給すること
によって樹脂を加熱溶融させ、管と継手の融着を行うこ
とによって、専用の治具を用いることなく継手の締め止
め部で管の抜け止めを行い得ると共に、該締め止め部は
管と継手の隙間からの溶融樹脂の流出並びに放熱を抑
え、融着品質の向上を図り得るものである。

【実施例】以下本発明の実施例を図面に基づいて詳述す
る。図1は本発明に係る締め止め部の斜視図、図2は融
着方法の実体図であり、図中(1)はポリエチレン製の
T形のEF継手で、継手(1)の内部に電熱線を埋め込
んだものである。詳しくは図3にも示すように、上下水
道やガスの配管として使用されるポリエチレン管(3)
の端部を差し込む継手(1)の各受け口部(4)の内
面、すなわち管(3)との接触面に電熱線(5)が埋め
込まれている。この電熱線(5)はニッケル線またはニ
ッケル合金線を素線とし、表面をポリエチレンで被覆し
た被覆線が使用され、受け口部(4)の開口端側(管を
差し込む側)に電熱線(5)の両端を出すように、電熱
線(5)は二つ折り状態で受け口部(4)の開口端より
所定寸法内側に入った所から受け口部(4)の内面にコ
イル状に埋め込まれている。また電熱線(5)の両端に
は一対の端子(6)が接続され、両端子(6)は電熱線
(5)への電力供給を各受け口部(4)の開口端面(3
a)から行えるように、両端子(6)を受け口部(4)
の開口端面(3a)から軸方向に埋め込んでいる。さら
に前記両端子(6)間の受け口部(4)の開口端面(3
a)にEF継手(1)の品種判別用の端子(7)を設け
ている。従って各受け口部(4)の開口端面(3a)に
は3つの端子(6)(7)が近接して設けられている。
【0008】また図中(8)は電熱線(5)に電力を供
給する電源装置であるエレクトロフュージョンコントロ
ーラであり、自動融着制御用の電気(電子)回路基板や
変圧器など(図示省略)をコントロールボックス(9)
に内設すると共に、スタートスイッチ(10)、リセッ
トスイッチ(11)、液晶表示器(12)、漏電ブレー
カ(13)、電源ケーブル(14)を接続するためのコ
ネクタ(15)、継手(1)の電熱線(5)に電力を供
給するための接続ケーブル(16)を接続するためのコ
ネクタ(17)を前記コントロールボックス(9)の操
作面(9a)に配設している。

(1)の各受け口部(3)の開口端部には、内面を管
(3)外面に締め付け可能な締め止め部(18)が一体
成形されている。

達する第2の割り溝(20)は受け口部(4)の開口端
面(4a)と平行に設け、且つ第1の割り溝(19)終
端から前記端子(6)(7)側に向って、180°以内
で前記端子(6)(7)の取付け部の手前までの所定角
度(θ)(略135°)に設けるもので、前記第1及び
第2の割り溝(19)(20)によって各受け口部
(4)の開口端部に締め付けバンド(21)を形成して
いる。

管(3)の軸方向の移動及び回転を規制し、管(3)の
抜け止めを行うように構成している。
【0012】本実施例は上記の如く構成するもので、図
2に示すようにEFコントローラ(8)の電源コード
(14)の電源プラグ(14a)を電源に接続させると
共に、管(3)の端部を差し込んだEF継手(1)の受
け口部(4)の開口端面(4a)の端子(6)(7)に
EFコントローラ(8)の接続コード(16)の接続コ
ネクタ(16a)を接続させ、また接続コネクタ(16
a)と反対側でボルト・ナット(26)(27)を介し
てバンド(21)内面を管(3)の外面に締め付けて、
管(3)の抜け止めを行った後、スタートボタン(1
0)をオン操作することにより、EFコントーラ(8)
によってEF継手(1)の種類に応じた電力量が電熱線
(5)に供給され、電熱線(5)埋め込み範囲の継手
(1)の受け口部(4)内面とそれに対応する管(3)
の外面の樹脂が加熱溶融され、管(3)と継手(1)の
融着が自動的に行われるものである。
【0013】尚、融着完了後は締め止め部(18)の機
能は終わるため、ボルト・ナット(26)(27)は取
外してバンド(21)の締め付けを解除した状態で放置
することができると共に、受け口部(4)の外表面に突
出するリブ(22)(23)が配管の支障となる場合に
はこのリブ(22)(23)を切り落してもよい。
【0014】前記バンド(21)の締め付けを継手
(1)への電力供給側と反対側の継手(1)外周側で行
うため、締め付け作業を簡単に行うことができると共
に、各端子(6)(7)を避けて設ける必要があるバン
ド(21)の長さを最大限長く形成することができ、高
い締め付けトルクを得ることができるものである。

【発明の効果】本発明は、以上説明したように構成され
ているので、以下に記載されるような効果を奏する。
【0016】管(3)端部を差し込む継手(1)の受け
口部(4)の開口端部に、内面を管(3)外面に締め付
け可能な締め止め部(18)を一体成形したので、専用
の治具を用いることなく継手(1)の締め止め部(1
8)で管(3)の抜け止めを行うことができ、配管業者
が継手の種類やサイズに対応した治具を保有し、且つ、
持ち運ぶ必要がなくなり、経済的及び労力的に負担を軽
減できると共に、融着作業も従来に比べて簡単に行うこ
とができるようになる。
【0017】また、前記締め止め部(18)は管(3)
と継手(1)の隙間からの溶融樹脂の流出並びに放熱を
抑えるので、融着品質の向上も同時に図ることができ
る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 継手の管との接触面に電熱線を埋設し、
    電熱線に電力を供給することによって樹脂を加熱溶融さ
    せ、管と継手の融着を行うエレクトロフュージョン継手
    において、管端部を差し込む継手の受け口部の開口端部
    に、内面を管外面に締め付け可能な締め止め部を一体成
    形したことを特徴とするエレクトロフュージョン継手。
