Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.不織ウェブを後処理する方法であって、 (a)第1及び第2の層、及び第3の層から製造された先駆体不織ウェブを選択 する工程であって、前記第1及び第2の層の各々が少なくとも30%の結晶度を有 する非エラストマー性熱可塑性プラスチック繊維をランダムに集めたものであり 、前記第1及び第2の層の各々が熱可塑性プラスチックの融点より少なくとも10 °F低い温度及び少なくとも2500%/分の歪み速度における4未満の最大加工破 断点延伸比、及びASTM F 316-86 に基づく4乃至250 ミクロンの最大細孔サイズ を有する工程、 (b)先駆体不織ウェブを熱可塑性プラスチックの軟化温度と融点の間の温度で 加熱する工程、 (c)加熱された先駆体不織ウェブを実質的に横方向の張力下延伸してウェブを 縦方向に圧密化させそれによってウェブの最大細孔サイズを少なくとも20%減少 させる工程であって、加熱及び延伸工程を、先駆体不織ウェブを加熱しながら第 1の線速度で横方向歪み機構に送ること及び横方向歪み機構からの先駆体不織ウ ェブを第2の線速度で引き出すことによって連続的に行う工程、及び (d)ウェブを冷却するか又は冷却させる工程、 を含む方法。 2.延伸工程が、ウェブに先駆体不織ウェブの平均流れ細孔サイズよりも少なく とも20%小さい平均流れ細孔サイズを与えるのに十分である、請求項1の方法。 3.延伸工程が、ウェブに先駆体不織ウェブの充填密度よりも少なくとも20%大 きい充填密度を与えるのに十分である、請求項1の方法。 4.延伸工程の後延伸張力を解放し、そして延伸張力の解放の前に冷却工程を行 ってウェブを熱可塑性プラスチックの軟化温度より低い温度まで冷却する、請求 項1の方法。 5.先駆体不織ウェブの第1及び第2の層の少なくとも一方が、0.5 乃至8ミク ロンの平均繊維直径を有し、ASTM D 5035-90に基づいて40%未満の破断点伸び を有する溶融ブローウェブである、請求項1の方法。 6.熱可塑性プラスチックがポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、及びそれらのコポ リマーから成る群から選択されるポリオレフィンであり、加熱工程を190乃至350 °Fの温度で行う、請求項1の方法。 7.熱可塑性プラスチックがポリエステル、ポリアミド、セルローストリアセテ ート、セルロースジアセテート、ポリ−4−メチルペンテン−1、ポリフェニレ ンスルフィド、液晶ポリマー、及びフルオロポリマーから成る群から選択される 、請求項1の方法。 8.溶融ブロー先駆体ウェブがランダムに分布した全体にわたる繊維−繊維結合 を有する、請求項6の方法。 9.先駆体不織ウェブの第1及び第2の層の少なくとも一方が、7乃至50ミクロ ンの平均直径の繊維を有し、ウェブ全体にわたって分布した間隔の開いた結合を を有するスパンボンドウェブである、請求項1の方法。 10.溶融ブロー層がASTM D 5035-90に基づいて30%未満の破断点伸びを有する、 請求項5の方法。 11.先駆体ウェブが、溶融ブロー層/綿層/溶融ブロー層から成る複合体であり 、これらの層は間隔の開いた複数の場所において熱によりお互いに結合されてい る、請求項1の方法。 12.先駆体ウェブが6乃至160インチの幅と2乃至100ミルの厚さを有し、延伸さ れたウェブが先駆体ウェブの125%を越える幅と2乃至150ミルの厚さを有し、延 伸されたウェブの先駆体ウェブに対する厚さの比が1:1乃至1.5:1の範囲内 である、請求項1の方法。 13.ランダムに配置された非エラストマー性熱可塑性人造繊維から成る第1及び 第2の層及び第1及び第2の層の間に挟まれたセルロース系ステープルファイバ ーから成る第3の層を含む積層された先駆体不織ウェブから製造された不織ウェ ブであって、前記ウェブは一軸的に延伸され熱硬化され、一軸的な加熱と延伸は 先駆体不織ウェブを第1の線速度で横方向歪み機構に送ること及び横方向歪み機 構からの先駆体不織ウェブを第2の線速度で引き出すことによって連続的に行わ れ、それによって熱可塑性繊維の大部分が圧密化され一般に延伸の 方向に整列させられそして小割合の熱可塑性繊維のセグメントが延伸の方向に対 して横方向又は横断方向に置かれ、それによって不織ウェブが先駆体ウェブの最 大細孔サイズの80%未満の最大細孔サイズによって特徴付けられそして横方向の 50%伸びからの少なくとも70%の回復率の横方向弾性を有する、不織ウェブ。 14.先駆体不織ウェブの第1及び第2の層がランダムに結合し0.5乃至8ミクロ ンの平均直径を有する非エラストマー性熱可塑性溶融ブロー繊維から成る、請求 項13の不織ウェブ。 15.繊維がウェブの水湿潤性を増加させる界面活性剤で少なくとも部分的に被覆 されている、請求項13の不織ウェブ。 16.3乃至40ミクロンの平均流れ細孔サイズを有する、請求項14の不織ウェブ。 17.先駆体不織ウェブから製造された不織ウェブであって、先駆体不織ウェブが 非エラストマー性熱可塑性人造繊維を有する第1及び第2の個々の不織ウェブ及 び第1及び第2の層の間に挟まれたセルロース系ステープル天然繊維から成る第 3の層から成る積層体を含みそして一軸的に延伸され熱硬化され、一軸的な加熱 と延伸は先駆体不織ウェブを加熱しながら第1の線速度で横方向歪み機構に送る こと及び横方向歪み機構からの先駆体不織ウェブを第2の線速度で引き出すこと によって連続的に行われ、それによって繊維の大部分が圧密化され一般に延伸の 方向に整列させられそして小割合の繊維のセグメントが延伸の方向に対して横方 向又は横断方向に置かれ、それによって不織ウェブが先駆体ウェブの最大細孔サ イズの80%未満の最大細孔サイズによって特徴付けられそして横方向の50%伸び からの少なくとも70%の回復率で定義される横方向弾性を有する、不織ウェブ。 18.非エラストマー性熱可塑性繊維及びセルロース系ステープル天然繊維を有す る積層体先駆体不織ウェブから製造された縦方向に伸びる不織ウェブであって、 繊維の大部分がウェブの縦方向において圧密化されそして一般にウェブの縦方向 に対して横断方向に置かれていることを特徴とし、圧密化は先駆体不織ウェブを 加熱しながら第1の線速度で横方向歪み機構に送ること及び横方向歪み機構から の先駆体不織ウェブを第2の線速度で引き出すことによって行われ、そ れによってウェブの最大細孔サイズは先駆体ウェブの最大細孔サイズの70%未満 であり、ウェブ中の繊維の大部分はウェブの縦方向に対して横断方向に伸びてお りそしてその一部分は縦方向の繊維に結合しており、前記ウェブはさらにウェブ の縦方向において50%伸びからの少なくとも70%の回復率で定義される弾性の水 準を有することを特徴とする、不織ウェブ。 19.請求項18の不織ウェブを含むフィルター。 20.請求項19のフィルターを含む顔面マスク。 21.繊維が静電気を帯びている、請求項18の不織ウェブ。 22.繊維が付加された電気を帯びている、請求項18の不織ウェブ。 23.非弾性熱可塑性繊維を含む不織ウェブを後処理するための装置であって、 前記装置を通してウェブを延伸するための輸送手段、 輸送されたウェブを熱可塑性繊維の軟化点と融点の間の温度に加熱するため の手段、及び ウェブを縦方向に圧密化するための、加熱されたウェブの両側の縁部をつか み、そして前記輸送手段によってウェブを装置を通して引張りながら加熱された ウェブに横方向の歪みをかける手段(ウェブは装置を通して縦方向に引張られる )、 を含む装置。 24.掴み手段によるウェブの受入れ速度を越える速度でウェブを掴み手段に導入 して、ウェブの両側の縁部が掴み手段によって掴まれるときウェブにひだがつく ようにする、請求項23の装置。 25.ウェブによって定義される平面においてウェブが実質的に均一な歪みにされ されるように掴まれたウェブに強制を加える手段をさらに含む、請求項23又は24 の装置。 26.輸送手段がウェブを掴み手段に第1の線速度で導入し、掴み手段からウェブ を第2の線速度で取り去り、第2の線速度の第1の線速度に対する比率が1:1. 1乃至1:2の範囲内である、請求項23乃至25のいずれか1請求項の装置。 27.掴み手段と輸送手段がウェブに対して連続的に作用する、請求項23乃至26の いずれか1請求項の装置。 28.掴み手段が、ウェブの両側の縁部をつかむための周辺に置かれた歯を有する スプロケットである、請求項23乃至27のいずれか1請求項の装置。 29.加熱手段が、隣接して配置された出口を有し掴み手段の間で広がるダクトを 通して空気を送るための送風機を含む、請求項23乃至28のいずれか1請求項の装 置。 30.掴み手段の下流でウェブを冷却する手段をさらに含む、請求項23乃至29のい ずれか1請求項の装置。 31.掴み手段がウェブの両側の縁部をつかむための手段を有する掴み具の列であ り、各列の掴み具はある距離をおいてお互いに離されており、この距離は掴み具 の列が加熱手段を通るにつれて減少し、それによってウェブの速度がウェブの縦 方向の収縮に従って減少する、請求項23乃至30のいずれか1請求項の装置。 32.非弾性熱可塑性繊維を含む不織の長手方向に伸びるウェブを後処理する方法 であって、 長手方向に前進するウェブを引張りながら熱可塑性繊維の軟化点と融点の間 の温度にウェブを加熱すること、及び 縦方向のウェブの引張りを続けながら、加熱されたウェブの両側の縁部を掴 み、加熱されたウェブに横方向の歪みを加えてウェブを長手方向に圧密化するこ と、を含む方法。 33.非弾性熱可塑性繊維を含む、長手方向に圧密化された、不織の長手方向に伸 びるウェブであって、 長手方向に前進するウェブを引張りながら熱可塑性繊維の軟化点と融点の間 の温度にウェブを加熱すること、及び 縦方向のウェブの引張りを続けながら、加熱されたウェブの両側の縁部を掴 み、加熱されたウェブに横方向の歪みを加えてウェブを長手方向に圧密化するこ と、を含む方法によって製造されたウェブ。
