Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.(a)固定位置に配置されて主要表面(11、25)上にアレイを形成する多数の 個別の3次元研磨複合材(15、21)を有する第1想像面(111)内に広がる主要表面( 11、25)であって、該複合材(15、21)のそれぞれがバインダー(17)中に分散した 研磨粒子(16)を含み、かつ実質的に精密形状および該主要表面(11、25)から離れ た遠位末端(D)を有し、該多数の複合材がそれぞれ該第1想像面(111)と同一平面 上および平行な断面を含み、かつ該第1想像面(111)に垂直な方向に測定して該 主要表面(11、25)に最も近い離れた遠位末端(D')を有する少なくとも1つの複合 材(s)を含む主要表面(11、25); (b)各サイドエッジ(12、13)が該装置方向軸(14)に平行であり、かつ各サイド エッジ(12、13)がそれぞれ第1想像面(111)に垂直に広がる第2および第3想像 面(112、113)内にある装置方向軸(14)および向かい合うサイドエッジ(12、13) (c)該第1想像面(111)と平行に、かつ離れて広がる該最も近い遠位末端(D')と 接する第4想像面(114)であって、該装置方向軸(14)に平行方向に、かつ該第2 想像面(112)および第3想像面(113)の間に、第4想像面(114)内に引いたどんな 想像線も、該アレイ中の該研磨複合材(15、21)内の少なくとも1つの断面と交差 する第4想像面(114); を含むシート状構造体により特徴付けられる研磨物品。 2.該複合材(15、21)が、該シート状構造体の主要表面(11、25)と接触する第 1部分(28)および外側先端としての第2部分を有する幾何学形状であって、該第 1部分が円錐台形をなし、かつ第2部分が球形をなす幾何学形状を有する請求項 1記載の研磨物品。 3.該遠位末端(D)のそれぞれが、他の如何なる多数の複合材(15、21)の遠位 末端とも接触していない請求項1記載の研磨物品。 4.該複合材(15、21)の遠位末端(D)のそれぞれが、垂直方向に距離(H)約50μ m 〜約1020μm離れている請求項1記載の研磨物品。 5.該複合材(15、21)の遠位末端(D)のそれぞれが、垂直方向に実質的に同一 距離(H)離れている請求項1記載の研磨物品。 6.該研磨複合材(15、21)が、該主要表面(11、25)上に密度約100〜約10,000 研磨複合材/cm2で固定されている請求項1記載の研磨物品。 7.固定位置に配置された多数の個別の3次元研磨複合材(15、21)を有する主 要表面(11、25)を含むシート状構造体を含む研磨物品であって、該研磨複合材(1 5、21)のそれぞれが、バインダー(17)中に分散された研磨粒子(16)を含み、かつ 実質的に精密形状を有し、該複合材(15、21)が、主要表面(11、25)と接触する円 錐台形状(28)および遠位末端(23)としての球形をなす3次元幾何学形状を有する 研磨物品。 8.(a)バインダー中に分散された多数の研磨粒子を含有する研磨スラリーを 調製する工程; (b)(i)装置方向軸(14)および1対の向かい合うサイドエッジ(12、13)を有す る上部主要表面(11、25)を有する支持体(26、41)であって、該各サイドエッジが 装置方向軸(14)に平行であり、かつ各サイドエッジがそれぞれ該上部表面に垂直 に広がる第2および第3想像面(112、113)内に存在する支持体(26、41);および (ii)平行な向かい合ったサイドエッジにより輪郭を示した主要表面および該 主要表面に開口部を有する閉じ込められたくぼみによりそれぞれ限定された多数 のキャビティーを有する製造用具(46)であって、各キャビティーが、特定寸法を 有する明確で認識し得る輪郭により特定される精密形状をなし、それにより該製 造用具の向かい合ったサイドエッジに平行に該製造用具の主要表面を横切るよう に引いた如何なる想像線も、該アレイのキャビティーの内の少なくとも1つのキ ャビティー開口部と交差する製造用具(46); を提供する工程; (c)該研磨スラリーを塗布する手段を提供し、少なくとも該製造用具(46)の多 数のキャビティーを充填する工程; (d)該支持体(26、41)の上部主要表面(11、25)を、研磨スラリーが該上部主要 表面を湿潤するように該製造用具(46)と接触させる工程; (e)バインダー前駆体を固化してバインダーを形成し、固化により研磨スラリ ーを多数の研磨複合材に変換する工程; (f)該固化を行って、第1想像面(111)内に広がる主要表面(11、25)上で該支 持体(26、41)にアレイをなして結合した多数の個別の3次元研磨複合材(15、21) を提供した後、該製造用具(46)を該上部主要表面から離す工程であって、該複合 材(15、21)のそれぞれが、バインダー(17)中に分散された研磨粒子(16)を含有し 、実質的に精密形状および該主要表面(11、25)から離れた遠位末端(D)を有し、 該多数の複合材(15、21)がそれぞれ該主要表面(11、25)と同一平面上でかつ平行 な断面を含み、該第1想像面(111)に垂直な方向に測定して該主要表面(11、25) に最も近く離れた遠位末端(D')を有する少なくとも1つの複合材(s)を含み、第 4想像面(114)が、該最も近い遠位末端(D')と接する該第1想像面(111)に平行に 広がり、該第1想像面(111)から離れており、該装置方向軸(14)に平行方向に、 かつ該第2および第3想像面(112、113)の間に、第4想像面(114)内に引いたど んな想像線も、該アレイ中の該研磨複合材(15、21)内の少なくとも1つの断面と 交差する該製造用具(46)を該上部主要表面から離す工程; により特徴付けられる請求項1記載の研磨物品の製造方法。
