Since many of the molded products produced from these thermoplastic resins have a hydrophobic surface, depending on the conditions such as temperature and humidity in which the molded product is used, the surface of the molded product may become cloudy, causing various inconveniences. I'm coming. For example, in goggles and safety glasses that use lenses made of synthetic resin, the visibility is impaired due to fogging, and in a food packaging film, the contents are difficult to see due to fogging. Further, in the agricultural film used for greenhouses, the penetration of sun rays deteriorates due to cloudiness, which slows down the growth of plants and causes water droplets generated by the aggregation of cloudy fine water droplets to fall on cultivated plants. , Young shoots may be harmed or cause disease.

To impart antifogging property to the surface of a thermoplastic resin molded article, a method of kneading a hydrophilic substance such as a surfactant into a thermoplastic resin to prepare a molded article, or after forming a molded article, the surface of A method of applying a hydrophilic substance or a water-soluble polymer substance has been adopted.

There is a drawback that the antifogging property disappears within a short period of time. On the other hand, in the latter method, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 50-
No. 6437, Japanese Patent Publication No. 53-37075, etc., a method of applying a composition comprising a hydrophilic polymer and a surfactant has been proposed. Poor and inferior in adhesion to hydrophobic thermoplastic resin, the coating film derived from these hydrophilic substances is easily peeled off from the surface of the resin molded product and cannot exhibit sufficient antifogging performance especially under humid conditions. .

ことができないという欠点があった。In order to improve these drawbacks, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 56-34219 proposes a method of insolubilizing a hydrophilic acrylate polymer containing a hydroxy group with a crosslinking agent. . However, according to this method, the antifogging property itself is also lowered, and therefore it cannot be said to be a satisfactory improvement method. On the other hand, as a method of imparting hydrophilicity, a method of applying a mixture of an inorganic aqueous sol and a surfactant has been proposed. For example, Japanese Patent Publication 50-11
Japanese Patent Publication No. 34831/1983 discloses a composition mainly containing a surfactant and a small amount of silica sol added thereto, and Japanese Patent Publication No. 49-32668 discloses a composition containing a surfactant added to an alumina sol. The official gazette discloses a colloidal silica to which a small amount of a water-soluble aluminum salt is added. However, since these mixtures have poor adhesion to the organic thermoplastic resin, the formed coating film has fallen off with the passage of time and has the drawback that the antifogging effect cannot be maintained for a long period of time.

It is difficult to control the bleeding of the hindered amine compound contained in the film surface to a sufficient amount, therefore, the adhesion is reduced, the antifogging effect is impaired in a short time, and the bleeding hindered amine compound Due to the small molecular weight, the inorganic aqueous sol in the formed coating film has a drawback that it will fall out together with the hindered amine compound over time, and the antifogging effect cannot be maintained for a long period of time.

Proposals have been made to improve durability, but since the main components of the coating film are inorganic aqueous sol and hydrophilic organic compound as the main components, the water resistance is poor and the formed coating film falls off over time. It was difficult to maintain the antifogging effect for a long period of time.

That is, a combination of a silica sol and a cationic surfactant, which are generally negatively charged in an aqueous solution, and an alumina sol and an anionic surfactant, which are generally positively charged in an aqueous solution, should be avoided. These combinations easily cause gelation of the sol and aggregation / separation of the antifogging composition, which makes application difficult. These surfactants are used in the range of 0.1 to 10% by weight based on the total amount of the charged monomers.
If it exceeds 10% by weight, the water resistance of the dried coating film is deteriorated, which is not preferable.

The polymerization method for obtaining the acrylic resin of the present invention is a batchwise charging method of monomers,
A continuous feeding method may be used. In addition, after polymerizing a part of it first,

The aqueous emulsion of the acrylic resin, which is a constituent of the composition of the present invention, is a liquid dispersion even if the aqueous emulsion obtained by emulsion polymerization in the presence of each monomer and a surfactant is used as it is. It may be diluted by adding a medium, or may be obtained by separately collecting the polymer produced by the above polymerization and redispersing it in a liquid dispersion medium to obtain an aqueous emulsion.

Examples of the inorganic colloid sol include inorganic aqueous colloid particles such as silica, alumina, water-insoluble lithium silicate, iron hydroxide, tin hydroxide, titanium oxide, and barium sulfate, which are dispersed in water or a hydrophilic medium by various methods. Also, an aqueous sol can be used. Among them, silica sol and alumina sol are preferable. These may be used alone or in combination.

Within this range, two or more types of colloid sols having different average particle sizes may be used in combination. If the average particle diameter exceeds 100 mμ, not only the coating film tends to be white and devitrified, but also the antifogging sustainability decreases, which is not preferable. If it is less than 5 μm, the stability of the inorganic colloid sol may be lacking.

Can not exert sufficient anti-fog effect. Further, when it exceeds 4, not only the antifogging effect does not improve in proportion to the compounding amount, but when the molded product is transparent, the coating film formed after coating becomes cloudy to reduce the light transmittance, and However, it is not suitable because the coating film is rough and easily vulnerable.
