Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.エチルベンゼン及び少なくとも1種のキシレンを含有するフィードから芳 香族化合物を製造する方法であって、 (a)フィードを、エチルベンゼン転化条件下で第1の触媒に接触させること によって、エチルベンゼンの減少した生成物を生成する工程であって、 第1の触媒は、温度800°F(426.7℃)、圧力150psig(1136k Paa)、重量時間空間速度20hr-1及び水素対炭化水素モル比1にて、60重量 %のメタキシレン、20重量%のオルトキシレン及び20重量%のエチルベンゼ ンを含むフィードに接触する試験を行った場合に、12重量%以下のパラキシレ ンを生成するのに有効である工程、並びに (b)キシレン異性化条件下で、エチルベンゼンの減少した生成物を第2の触 媒に接触させる工程 を含んでなる方法。 2.第1の触媒の選択性化を、ケイ素化合物による触媒の含浸、触媒のコーク 選択性化及びこれらの組合せからなる群から選ばれる方法によって行う請求の範 囲1記載の方法。 3.温度800°F(426.7℃)、圧力150psig(1136kPaa)、重 量時間空間速度20hr-1及び水素対炭化水素モル比1にて、60重量%のメタキ シレン、20重量%のオルトキシレン及び20重量%のエチルベンゼンを含有す る試験フィードを接触させた場合に、第1の触媒が、C5-生成物は10重量%以 下で生成する一方で、該フィード中に存在するエチルベンゼンの少なくとも15 重量%を転化するのに有効である請求の範囲1又は2記載の方法。 4.エチルベンゼン及びキシレンを含有し、パラキシレン濃度が熱平衡におけ る濃度以下であるフィード中のキシレンを異性化する方法であって、 (a)フィードを、エチルベンゼン転化条件下で、シリカバインダー及び中間 孔寸法ゼオライトを含んでなる第1の触媒に接触させる工程であって、 第1の触媒は、4.5±0.8mmHg(493〜707Paa)のオルトキシレン分 圧及び120℃にて、オルトキシレンの平衡容量の30%を収着するのに少なく とも50分を要するものであり、 第1の触媒の中間孔寸法ゼオライトは少なくとも1つの選択性化シーケンスに 付することによって改質したものであり、 選択性化シーケンスは、ゼオライトを選択性化剤に接触させ、選択性化したゼ オライトをその後に焼成する操作を含むものである工程;及び (b)キシレン異性化条件下で、工程(a)からの流出物を第2の触媒に接触 させる工程 を含んでなる方法。 5.第1の触媒及び第2の触媒が、同じ反応装置内において別々の床に配され ている請求の範囲1〜4のいずれかに記載の方法。 6.第1の触媒及び第2の触媒が、別々の反応装置に配されている請求の範囲 1〜5のいずれかに記載の方法。 7.別々の反応装置の間において、エチルベンゼンの減少した生成物から少な くとも1種の芳香族化合物を回収する請求の範囲6記載の方法。 8.第1の触媒が、少なくとも3段階の選択性化シーケンスに付することによ って改質したシリカ結合中間孔寸法ゼオライトであり、各選択性化シーケンスは ゼオライトを選択性化剤に接触させ、その後、選択性化したゼオライトを焼成す る操作を含んでなる請求の範囲1〜7のいずれかに記載の方法。 9.第1の触媒が、4.5±0.8mmHg(493〜707Paa)のキシレン分圧 及び120℃にて、キシレンについての平衡収着容量の30%に相当する量のオ ルトキシレンを収着するのに少なくとも1200分を要するものである請求の範 囲1〜8のいずれかに記載の方法。 10.第1の触媒が、周期表の第VIIIA族、第VIIA族、第VIA族、第VB族 、第IVB族、第IIIB族、第IB族及びこれらの組合せから選ばれる水素化−脱 水素化成分を含む請求の範囲1〜9のいずれかに記載の方法。 11.第1の触媒が、触媒の合成に由来して存在するアルカリ金属又はアルカ リ土類金属を除いて、少なくとも0.03重量%のアルカリ金属又はアルカリ土 類金属を含むように処理したものである請求の範囲1〜10のいずれかに記載の 方法。 12.第1の触媒が水蒸気処理されてものである請求の範囲1〜11のいずれ かに記載の方法。
