Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an air conditioner, in which wind velocity of air drawn into the air conditioner unit from the room and passed through the heat exchanger is made uniform throughout the entire surface of the heat exchanger, whereby it is enabled to make an efficient use of heat exchanger and to reduce generation of noises caused by the inlet air to the air conditioner unit.
CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger 4 with fins is disposed in air conditioner unit 1 having an air inlet port 2 and an air outlet port or air diffusing port 3, at the portion thereof where it faces the inlet port 2, and a turbo fan 7 is disposed at the back of said heat exchanger 4 by the intermediary of bell mouth 6. The heat exchanger 4 is equipped with means 10 for making resistance to air flow at the portion facing opening 5 of bell mouth 6 larger than that at the other portions. With such an arrangement, wind velocity of air passed through the heat exchanger 4 is made substantially uniform throughout the entire surface thereof by means of turbo fan 7, whereby it is enabled to improve efficiency of the operation of heat exchanger 4 and to reduce generation of noises caused by the inlet air.
