Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a protective film having high strengh, improved corrosion resistance and uniform thickness on a welded seam part of a metallic container, by coating the welded seam part with a dispersion of a specific polyamide powder, which is molten after drying.
CONSTITUTION: A welded seam part of a metallic container is uniformly coated with a dispersion wherein polyamide powder having particle diameters of 1W100μ, preferably particle diameters of 1W60μ is dispersed in a bad solvent of polyamide nearly adjusted to have a density as much as that of polyamide fiber to make a layer, which is dried at near normal temperature to evaporate most of solvent. The layer is then heated to 120W350°C, and the polyamide powder is melted to form a protective film having a satisfactory and uniform thickness.
