Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain the spacing between a sleeve and a gap roller always at a preset level without any adjustment by equipping a developing device, which has its upper frame openable, with guide positioning means for the gap roller.
CONSTITUTION: A guide positioning member 22 having its leading end formed with a V-shaped groove is attached rotatably and retainably to the both ends of the shaft 12a of a gap roller 12. When an upper frame 15 opened upward is closed downward about a shaft 16, the V-shaped groove of the member 22 is brought into contact with the both end of the sleeve 8, which is fixed to a developing bath 6 supported in a vertically movably manner by the action of an extendible spring. As a result, the periphery of the sleeve 8 is forced into contact with both of the inner peripheral edges of the groove so that the relative positions of the gap roller 12 and the sleeve 8 are invaried so that the gap G is maintained at a constant level without any adjustment at all times
