Abstract

PURPOSE: To be capable of removing cations as well as PO3- 3, alumino silicate contains Ca2+ or Al ion in a specified equivalent ratio relative to Al gram atom that forms cation exchange point, and is specified with respect to a mol ratio of SiO2/ Al2O3 as well as to a capacity of cation exchange.
CONSTITUTION: Raw material comprises zeolite having as ion exchange capacity of 120mg/100g or more, particularly natural moldenite or natural clinoptylolite. The zeolite is treated by a strong alkaline aqueous solution such as NaOH having pH of 11 or more, particulary pH of 13 or more. Preferably, the zeolite is in granular form in size of 6-200 mesh and the treating temperaure is 60-100°C. The alkali treated zeolite is, then, provided with Ca ion and Al ion as cations in such a quantity that Ca ion or Al ion is 0.2 equivalent or more, preferably 0.6 equivalent or more per gram atom of Al that forms cation exchange point, a cation exchange capacity is 60-250mg equivalent/100g and a mol ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 is 6 to 12. The resultant zeolite is suitable for medical adsorbent
