Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove phosphate ion by use of small quantity of flocculant, phosphate ion-containing waste water is treated by adsorbing tower filled with phosphate ion adsorbent to remove phosphate ion, and regenerated liquid is added with phosphate ion flocculant.
CONSTITUTION: Adsorbing tower is filled with phosphate ion adsorbent such as ferric ion-adsorbed polyamine type chelate ion-exchange resin. Phosphate ion-containing waste water is introduced into the tower to allow phosphate ion to be adsorbed and removed, and treated water is discharged. Phosphate ion-adsorbed absorbent is contacted with aqueous salt solution such as sodium chloride and ammonium chloride to regenerate the adsobent by removing phosphate ion. Regenerating waste liquid containing highly concentrated phosphate ion is added with flocculant such as salt, aluminum salt, lime, etc. allowing phsophate ion to be mostly flocculated and precipitated, and supernatant is returned to the adsorbing tower.
