Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the insulation deterioration level of the coil without taking it out from the core, by separating a portion of the low resistance corona shield film adjacent to the slot outlet from the other portion of the film electrically connected to the core, and using the former portion as a measuring electrode.
CONSTITUTION: The low resistance corona shield film 4 applied to the stator coil 2 is divided into three portions 4a, 4b, 4c near the outlet of the slot. Among these, the portions 4a and 4b are connected by a grounding lead 6b and grounded through the core 1, and the portion 4c is used as a measuring electrode. In a corona test, a detecting resistor 10 and a corona measuring device is connected to a lead 6a, and a voltage is applied to a lead 6c. In a D.C. test and in an A.C. test, a D.C. or an A.C. is applied to the lead 6c, and measurement is carried out by means of an ammeter 12. Thus, the insulation deterioration can sensitively be detected without taking out the coil 2 from the core 1.
