Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I: (R1 is amino or formylamino group; R2 is 2W4C alkyl group) and is salt.
EXAMPLE: 2-Methyl-7-[2-ethoxyimino-2-(2-aminothiazole-4-yl)acetamido]-3-cephem- 4-carboxylic hydrochloride (syn-isomer).
USE: Antibacterials.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II, its reactive derivative at the amino group, or its salt is reacted with a compound of formula III, its reactive derivative at the carboxy group, or its salt to give the compound of formula I or its salt. The compound of formula I, wherein R1 is a formylamino group, or its salt can be converted to a compound of formula I, wherein R1 is an amino group by removing the formyl group with conc. hydrochoric acid.
