Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound shown by the formula I [R1W3 are H, halogen, or alkyl; T is OH, OR4 (R4 is alkyl), OM1 (M1 is alkali metal), etc.; except that all the R1W3 are H, and Y is OH, OR4, etc.].
EXAMPLE: o-(N-Allyl-2,6-dichloroanilino)phenylacetic acid ethyl ester.
USE: An anti-inflammatory agent and sedative, and its intermediate. Sodium salt of o-(2,6-dichloroanilino)phenylacetic acid can be obtained industrially advantageously from a readily obtainable raw material through a compound shown by the formula I.
PROCESS: A compound shown by the formula II is reacted with a compound shown by the formula III (X is Cl, etc.) in the presence of an alkali metallic hydride, and reacted with a compound shown by the formula IV (R is alkyl), to give a compound shown by the formula V. The compound shown by the formula V is reacted with an alcohol shown by the formula R4OH in the presence of a mineral acid, to give a compound shown by the formula I wherein y is OR4.
