Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition capable of giving cured resins having improved arc, tracking resistance, and flame retardancy with little temperature dependence of dielectric dissipation factor and specific inductive capacity, comprising a bisphenol A type epoxy resin, an alicyclic epoxy resin, hexabromobenzene antimony trioxide, hydrated alumina, and guarts powders.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of a bisphenol A type epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent ≤200, (B) 5W25 parts by wt. of an alicyclic epoxy resin having internal epoxy groups and an epoxy equivalent ≤150, (C) 20W40 parts by wt. of hexabromobenzene powder, (D) 5W20 parts by wt. of antimony trioxide powder, (E) 60W140 parts by wt. of hydrated alumina powder, and (F) 40W120 parts by wt. of quarts powder. A liquid acid anhydride is selected from amine and acid anhydride type curing agents with regard to performance, e.g. composition viscosity, shelf life, and safety and hygiene.
